<<Chara's POV>>

"Chara is not going to school."

"Sans, they are a child. They need to go to school. They need an education."

I don't know when eating breakfast turned into a debate on whether or not I should resume my basic educational needs but as I slowly finished my freshly made pancakes made my Toriel, I silently hoped, to my despair, that Sans would win.

My previous dream with him in it had really creeped me out. It was a warning. How he sent it into my dreams I don't know but memories of it sent chills down my spine. Still, I didn't want to go to school. I hated humanity.

And I hated people.

My crimson gaze drifted to Frisk who sat next to me. They were silently watching the debate between Toriel and Sans. Under their breath, I heard them almost silently murmur;

'No one wins a fight with mom.'

They were right. Even when I lived with Toriel and Asgore alongside Asriel, it was pretty clear who worse the pants in the relationship. Toriel wouldn't take 'no' as an answer.

"Sans, Flowey goes to school."

"That's different, Tori. He can't do much and Frisk is there to keep him in check."

At this, Flowey shot a glare at Sans who ignored him completely.

"You have to go to school?" I teasingly whispered at the golden flower who leaned away from me. I giggled at that. As pitiful as it sounds at me getting an ego boost by intimidating a flower, it did feel good.

"Frisk, you'd want Chara to go to school with you, right?" Toriel asked the brunette next to me, who nodded enthusiastically. Sans looked distraught at this.

"Frisk... you know what they can do." A thought struck me as I remembered that I needed to get on Frisk's good side.

"Frisk, I want to go to school with you~" I all but purred. Getting on Frisk's and Toriel's good side would be too easy. By this point, pretending to be nice was coming to me naturally. "I haven't been to school in forever. It'd be nice." Frisk nodded and looked at Sans expectantly.

"Tori-"

"Sans. Please. Give Chara a chance." There was a pause before Sans let out a long irritated sigh.

"Okay. But Frisk and Flowey will stay with you the whole time. And you can't take your knife. And Frisk, you make sure they don't get ahold of scissors... or a really sharp pencil." Frisk and I nodded.

"Not quite sure what Flowey is going to do but I won't hurt anybody. Schools are mostly kids, right? I'm okay with other kids." Sans stared at me as if he didn't believe me. He was about to say something when there was a knock on the door.

"I'll-" Sans teleported to door before I could finish. "...sit here and wait."

Toriel came over to where I was sitting and picked up my empty plate. She looked up at me and held my gaze.

"Chara... I... I don't..." She swallowed and let out a trembling breath. She shook her head instead and laid a paw ontop of my hand. "I missed you." I opened my mouth to reply but she turned away and went to the sink to wash up.

"Chara, it's for you." Sans called. My eyes widened and I looked at Frisk who shrugged. I hopped off my seat and went to the front door to see a spider standing there.

I'd seen her before. I'd killed her before. A lot. Purple skin. Black hair. What was her name again?

"Hello, dearie~" She began plesantly, but the anger in her eyes betrayed her. "I heard that a child in a green and yellow striped shirt hated spiders so much that they enjoyed stomping on them." She leaned closer and easily towered over me. "Is that true?"

I did infact recall stomping on a spider before the voting had happened the previous day. I shrugged.

"I don't know. I heard that you sell food made out of your children. Is that true?" The spider flinched and froze and if I had hit her. She shot a glance at Sans who looked like he was having a hard time not stabbing me.

"That is none of your business, my dear. What I came here to say is that if I hear that you've hurt one of my precious babies again... well, I'm sure my pet would appreciate the treat of a human soul." Multiple tiny spiders crawled across her shoulder and, even though I obviously could not tell what they were thinking, they all seemed to be glaring at me in disgust.

Sans sighed. "I'm sorry, Muffet, it won't happen again." That was her name! Muffet! She stayed for a couple more seconds before turning and leaving, a trail of spiders following after her. Sans shut the door.

"Will it kill you to not be rude for five minutes?" He asked.

"It's true, though! Why does she make food out of her children if she loves them so much?" I asked. He shook his head.

"She has her reasons." I frowned and raised a brow.

"What do you-"

"I don't know what you're planning, Chara, but Toriel and Frisk have faith in you. This is your last chance so don't throw it away." He turned and walked away, leaving me to stand there alone.

For some reason, I was starting to have faith in me, too.
