Relentless

The wolf cry rings
As the crickets sing
The moon shines bright
Giving her gift of light
The owl drifts silent by
As the bats take to the sky
A curl of smoke drifts
Embers the current lifts
The badger crawls from his lair
As the buck stops to scent the air
The wolf ends the song
The crickets sense the wrong
The presence of a danger
A relentless stranger
