Thank you very much for reading! Emma

"Tell me again, Doctor, what is this power I have attained?" I questioned Doctor Cornelius, my voice echoed in perfect waves around the training room. He was standing in the corner of the room; his twinkling, attentive eyes distracted in deep ponder. Caspian and Edmund had also joined the little gathering in the room, curious and excited to hear about what Cornelius had analysed about my new power. Hence the reason we there at the present moment. It had been a few days since the incident in the chamber and no one had entered the chamber since; fearing that deadly presences still lingered in the air. That afternoon I had to carry Nikabrik's blanketed body from the chamber and placed him into ground which Peter had dug up. There was a short internment which only lasted a few moments with quiet sobs from Trumpkin and soft, compassionate words from Trufflehunter before the dirt submerged Nikabrik into the earth. Since then, they both hadn't spoken much as their grief was too appreciable. Neither the Pevensie's nor Caspian had uttered a few, including Edmund. It seemed he was distant, off in his own little world, not realising I needed his company in this one.

"This power or ability has not just been attained, or gained forthwith-" Cornelius elucidated as he slowly paced with his hands knotted behind his back, "my proposition - which seems quite objective - is that you have taken your primitive form, which you have inherited from your father." I stared at him in wonder at his insightful knowledge, it amazed me at his exemplary knowledge.

"Yes, but doctor, that doesn't answer why she can transform into both an animal and human, or how it is even possible." Edmund interrogated leaning against a pillar with crossed arms. He did that when he was eager about an issue and wanted to examine further. He was that person that would question every little thing to make sure everything was clarified and justified.

"Anything is possible in Narnia. You're not in the world you previously dwelled in Sire-" Cornelius stressed. I heard a muffled 'I know' from Ed as the Doctor continued, "And it's quite obvious. Queen Amelia is the daughter of Aslan, whom takes form as lion. Since she was never conceived, like the rest of us. She wa merely created in the form of himself, but feline."

I decided to speak up, suddenly baffled at the information I heard, "So are you saying I was not born, but devised?"

The doctor shook his head, and stopped pacing in deep thought, "Not devised, you are not an experiment. My dear hasn't your father ever explained about how you were created?"

I dropped my head for a moment, disappointed that Cornelius was the one that was explaining how I was brought into this world. I pulled my head back up and blinked a few tears away, "No he never got to that part."

"Don't you think this is a bit too much information right now for Amelia right now? We need some rest." Caspian interrupted breaking an awkward momentary silence.

"No, Caspian, it's okay." I stood up, rejecting his counsel. In the corner of my eye I witnessed Edmund shoot a vigilant scowl towards Caspian, but I wasn't in the mood to worry of it, "Please, do go one, Doctor."

"Well, from my knowledge in ancient books recollected your creation and your time in Narnia before your father delivered you to the other world. But it is said that when you were formed from the Eleanora flower long before the Golden Age, as a cub not an infant." The Doctor proceeded to unfold the mysteries in my life. They weren't mysteries anymore, but a he went on it raised more questions in my head.

"Then how can I take form as a human?" I repeated Edmund's question.

Once again, Cornelius stopped to ponder an appropriate answer, possibly figuring out how to simplify something too confusing, "Well I have come to some conclusions although all seen quite rational. At the time of your creation the Witch was very powerful, and was capable of traversing between our two worlds using Black Sorcery. And as you have mentioned before, your world is all human, so in order for you to be invisible in her eyes, Aslan must have clearly morphed you into a human so that she would not be able to track you down. Thus, that process released a supernatural property in your bloodstream which has allowed you to transform from both to human and feline, vice versa. Ailuranthropy."

I ran my hands through my hair and huffed a prolonged sigh. There was too much information to sink in, it was very drowning and consuming, "Right. So I can take form of both a human and a feline at will?"

Cornelius snickered slightly to himself, "That's something that needs progressing. As this ability is still innovative, it is something that needs to time and patience. It might take a long time to master."

I smiled at Caspian who was now standing right next to me and who was also gazing back, eager to try out my new skill, "Can I try right now?"

Edmund lifted himself from his lazed position and advanced to the other side of me and placed a hand on my shoulder, "I don't think that's a great idea, Mia-"

I frowned and studied his face intensively, "And why not?"

"Because I said-" he began, but Pip refused to allow Edmund to finish his sentence.

"Because you said so? Mia is capable of making decisions herself, she doesn't need you dictating her." I knew what Edmund was going to say, and it completely shook me by surprise. I had always been grateful for his gallant traits, however his possessiveness was getting out of hand. And quite frankly I was getting sick and tired of people bickering.

"Enough, both of you. Caspian I can speak for myself," I felt like I was stopping verbal attacks too often now, it was quite exhausting. Thankfully, it silenced them and they both shuffled awkwardly, hopefully realising their foolishness. I stood up and turned to my fiancé, preparing myself for what I was going to say, "Ed, I want to do this. Besides, you were the one who was pushing me to do so. And quite frankly, if you aren't interested, feel free to occupy your time with something that will."

Edmund stumbled backwards slightly, stupefied that I would defend myself with words I had never uttered to him before. But his shocked expression quickly faded into a resentful frown flickering between Caspian and I, "Fine, I'd gladly do so." Was all he pronounced before he spun on his heel and marched out of the training room.

I wasn't going to admit it, but I did feel that jab of guilt and regret at the unnecessary words I shot at Edmund. But I also felt betrayed that Edmund had left so willingly, "Shall we proceed with your training?" Cornelius called, breaking the silence that previously engulfed the air. I mentally noted to speak with Edmund later, before I grinned at him and then to Caspian who I also caught smiling back. I couldn't help but to feel a sharp, warm feeling in my lower abdomen and quickly diverted my eyes back to Cornelius.

"Of course!" I agreed, brightly. I was so delighted to finally know that this was who I was truly meant to be, who I really was. And I didn't know whether to excited or anxious to open the new part of my life with open arms. To only be fifteen, have to shift quickly from a child to a young woman and have such a responsibility scared me. I once grew up, I became an adult; but I was granted a second chance after leaving my home the first time. I felt constraint to be successful in this do over, "Where do we start?"
