"We're going to start off with something basic," Loki says as we stand outside. "Now I know you have had training with humans before but not these. And whether you like to believe so or not, you're mostly the reason we keep dying out there," he lifts a brow smugly at me.

I frown. "Well I'm sorry. I'm not exactly the expert at fighting weird alien things!"

He chuckles. "And that's why we're here... because I am." He looks confident. "Now let's hope this isn't as horrid as teaching little Darcy Lewis," he makes a look at the ground.

I chuckle. "Trust me, it won't be."

"Oh no it'll be far worse," he teases then winks.

I smirk. "We'll just have to see then, won't we?"

"Indeed. Now ...shall we begin?" he lifts his brows.

Suddenly something hits me like a train and I am thrown to the ground. When I catch myself I look up at the mimic roaring at me, standing there where I was, ready to strike again. Loki backs up with a smug look on his face.

I watch him for a moment and then I look back at the mimic

I watch him for a moment and then I look back at the mimic. I squint my eyes at it in determination and roll my shoulders. "We shall," I say with a smirk.

It shrieks and then lunges straight for me.

I duck and the creature leaps over me. As it jumps, I thrust a blade of ice up into its gut and slice through it.

It tumbles on the ground and looks at me. Loki's illusions are pretty impressive. I could almost say that this beast is really here.

It's bleeding but it makes another fling towards me, the black goo slinging from its tentacles.

I twist out of the way and I slice through a few of the bloody, flailing appendages.

It loses enough blood as it falls that it doesn't have the strength to get back up.

Another appears to my left and I sling my blade around to throw it into the demon's mouth, killing it instantly.

"Questionable technique," Loki says with a frown as he observes what I did. "But you seem jumpy. Try focusing on the creature's separate parts instead of staying so disconnected. It promotes miscalculations and fumbling moves," he speaks fast like a professional. I suppose that doesn't surprise me. He has been taught by the best of the best as a prince of Asgard. He twists his mouth to one side as he looks me over. "And you're so miniscule," he insults.

I frown. "I can't help that I'm small."

He looks up as if to roll his eyes.

A limb grabs me at the ankle and yanks me down. Another throws itself onto me as Loki looks smug when I glance at him and he calls plainly, "Sometimes they attack without warning," as if he wasn't the one who made it do so.
