"Well, it's nice to meet you too." The boy says. He has shaggy black hair and violet eyes. I stare at him for a moment before he speaks again.

"I'm your neighbor, kinda. I live right across the street. Really, I am your neighbor considering there is no other houses around here." He says as he shows a toothy grin. I just roll my eyes and get off of him, allowing him to fully sit up.

"Huh, you aren't one for words are you? Well, I'm Shizu. What's your name pretty lady?" He asks. I whip around and glare at him, my katana now back to his neck. His eyes widen in fear as he holds his hands up in surrender.

"Alright, alright jeez. Just trying to make conversation." He mumbles. I feel kind of bad for a second and remove the sword from his neck. I walk up to him and grab his hand. His eyes widen momentarily but I just roll my eyes. I pull out a pen and begin to write on his hand.

'My name is Haleigh. Im new. I'll be attending the academy tomorrow.' I write. He quickly looks at his hand as if I had written a love note on there or something, but then he actually reads it.

"So you don't talk?" He asks and I shake my head no. He hums for a second with a concentrated face before asking me another question.

"How old are you?" He asks. I hold up seven fingers to answer his question. His eyes widen and a smile breaks onto his face.

"Huh, same as me and mostly everyone else in the academy. Well I'll walk you to the academy tomorrow, is that okay?" He asks. I hesitate momentarily but nod my head yes. Why not? I don't know where the school is anyways. He nods his head and bids me goodnight and leaves to his house. I let out a sigh and turn around. I still have to put all of this stuff up, cook myself dinner, and take a shower. Kami help me.

After I hang all of my clothes up and put them away in the appropriate drawers, I move on to making my bed, and after that's done I put all my stuff in the bathroom. Since I felt gross and sticky from doing all that stuff from today, and haven't had a real bath in about a week, I decided to shower first, cook after.

After my nice, warm shower, I cleaned the bathroom and hung my towel up to dry. I made my way to the kitchen and opted for a sandwich and chips because I'm exhausted and want to sleep. I finally washed my dishes and headed to my room. After placing my katana on a hook thing on the wall, I flopped down onto my new bed in my new room in my new house and allowed sleep to take over my entire body.

~ The Next Day ~

Just as the sun began to peek into my satin curtains, my eyes fluttered open. I sat up and stretched and looked at the clock. 6:30 am. Cool. I got up and went to my wardrobe and put on a black t-shirt and my black ninja pants along with my black ninja sandals. I stood in front of the body length mirror and frowned.

'It looks so plain.' I thought to myself. I looked around my room a moment, then a bright idea popped it's way into my head. I raced into the kitchen and searched through the drawers until I finally found some scissors. I looked down at my pants and smirked as I opened and closed the scissors a few times before pulling the fabric away from my skin to ensure that I don't cut myself and began chopping away at the fabric.

About ten minutes later, there was a knock at my door. I dusted the loose fabric of of my now beautifully cut up pants. Now I didn't look so plain because my skin looked lovely in contrast to the black of the jeans. I then went to the door and opened it to see Shizu.

"Hey there, ready to go? School starts at 7:30." Shizu says in a sing song tone. I rolled my eyes, something I only seem to do around him, at how happy he looked. I held up a finger signaling for him to wait a minute. I ran back down the hallway to get my katana off of the wall.

When I came back into the living room, Shizu was standing in the middle of the room, looking around at all of the furniture. He then looked back at me, eyeing me up and down, then looking at my weapon.

"Boy, you sure do like black." He noted as I nod my head. I go to the kitchen and grab a granola bar, an apple, and a water and look at the clock, it's 7:15. I then begin to walk out of the door, knowing that Shizu would be following me.

"So you live by yourself?" He asks suddenly and I nod my head, my face just as stoic as the day I arrived here.

"Doesn't that get lonely?" Shizu asks. I look at him in confusion. Huh, maybe I can do something about that. It is kinda boring with just me. Since I haven't answered him yet, and he's still looking at me, I shrug my shoulders and he just nods back. After a few minutes, we arrive to the school. Apparently they had just started about two months ago, so the kids here were only slightly ahead of me.

We enter the academy yard. There are only a few students there so far, maybe four or five. I look up at Shizu in confusion. By now it should be about 7:25, meaning that the doors should be open, and there should be more kids here. I tug on Shizu's sleeve and he stops to look at me. I point at the door and he gains a look of understanding.

"Our teacher is late a lot of mornings, so the other students come a bit later, seeing as how they'd have to wait outside anyways, but I like to be on time." He explained with a smile. I nod at him. He then looks at my legs and looks back up to my face.

"Cool pants and all, but where is your weapon pouch?" He asks, his gaze returning to my legs. I look down at my own legs and then his to see that he does in fact have a cream colored bag on his right leg. Then I look at the other students and see that they all have one too. I sigh in annoyance and shake my head.

"Well, after school we'll go to the weapons shop and get you some things. And while we're at it, we'll get some kunai and shuriken, and maybe some bandages." Shizu says while looking at me. I just keep my face plain and nod in response. He slings an arm around me and grins like an idiot.

"Anything for a pretty lady." He says. I quickly shrug him off, my shoulder hitting his chin, but not hard enough to cause any sort of damage, though hard enough for him to know to keep his hands off of me. He puts his hands up in surrender and mumbles some apologies. Just then a man dressed in a brown vest walks up and greets some students. He then turns to me and smiles.

"Hello, you must be Haleigh. The Tsuchikage informed me about you. I hope your stay so far has been great, but I'm sure it has since you've already met Shizu." He says chuckling at my blank face, and at Shizu who was rubbing his red cheek. He walked up to the entrance and unlocked the door, and all of the students began to file in, along with me and Shizu. He went to go sit in his seat, so I just sat on top of the teachers desk in the front of the room. Only a few seconds later, several more kids began to fill in and take their seats. After Sensei had seen that most everyone was here, he began to speak.

"Good morning class. Before we start today, I would like to introduce our new student. Her name is Haleigh. She doesn't talk so be courteous when talking to her." Sensei says. A few whistles were heard from around the class, Shizu being one of the people whistling.

"Alright Haleigh, here is your book, you will be sitting next to him over there. Deidara. Deidara, raise your hand." A few groans were heard as an excited looking blonde's hand shot up in the air and he bounces up and down a few times, something a seven year old kid would do. Oh, this is gonna be great.
