I look up at the blonde waving his hand madly in the air. Well, here goes nothing. I got up from my position on the teacher's desk and made my way to the far right hand corner of the class. Deidara sat in the back, and now, so do I. Shizu sat a row in front of us but closer to the middle.
"Hey! My name is Deidara, how are you, hm?" He asks with a bright smile on his face. He looks too innocent for this world. I just nod in response as I pull out my pen from my pocket and put my book on my desk.
"Oh yeah, that's right you don't talk, sorry." Deidara says and looks down with guilt on his face. I felt kind of bad for the kid so I reached over and took the notebook off of his desk and began to write when the teacher began to talk. I'm a great multitasker so it's okay, I can still pay attention.
"It's okay. I usually just write if the answer is required to be longer or more descriptive, that's how I communicated with the Tsuchikage." I scribble and push the journal back to him. He reads it over quickly before turning back to me.
"Oh okay, I'll remember that. After school, would you like to go to the store with me so I can buy a notebook to keep in my pocket for whenever we talk?" He asks. I look at him completely shocked. This kid wants to talk to me. Huh. I make a quick movement of my head and then face my eyes forward, sending all of my concentration to what Sensei is saying. It looks like keeping to myself and being completely emotionless is going to be much harder than expected.
The day ends rather quickly, and by now I've already memorized all of the hand signs and their names. Sensei only taught the other students for a while before giving them something to practice, then he came to the back of the room with me and taught me all of the signs. Apparently I'm a fast learner. He then gave me a short list of things that I needed to learn to be caught up with the class.
I kept my face neutral at him and nodded. He smiled and walked off to assist another student. On the list of things to practice was kunai target practice, shuriken target practice, transformation jutsu, and chapters one, two, and three of the book he had given me. So I'm not too far behind.
I figured since we are inside, that I can catch up on the reading first. By the end of class I am on chapter two. All these chapters are about is all of the different villages and the different leaders so it's basically history. Sensei finally dismisses us and all of the students go running out of the door, except for me, Shizu, and Deidara. I walk up to Sensei and tap his arm lightly to get his attention.
"Yes, what is it Haleigh?" Sensei asks as he looks down at me. I handed him the piece of paper that I had previously written on to give him earlier.
"Since you know about me, you know the things I can do. Do you know a jutsu where I can make an animal, like a ninja animal?" He reads over the words and looks at me and smiles before nodding his head a singular time.
"You're in luck, hold on and I'll write you the hand seals. This will allow you to make an animal that corresponds with your chakra specifically, though it can be one of your choosing." He says and takes the paper from me and writes down about eight hand seals.
I take the paper and nod at him and motion for Shizu and Deidara to follow me. Apparently while I was talking to Sensei, they'd already gotten acquainted and told each other the plans for the afternoon.
"Okay so, we're going to the stationary store first so Deidara can get his notebook and then he's coming with us to the weapons store so we can get your stuff." Shizu says as he and Deidara begin walking in the direction of the store. I didn't reply, obviously, but opted for walking behind them, a good distance away.
Once we get to the stationary store, Deidara looks at me, and then runs off down the aisles. Shizu runs to catch up with him, but I just cross my arms and huff at how childish they are acting. When I finally find them, Deidara has already found two he really likes and is holding them, looking at them back and forth, as does Shizu.
"Hey Haleigh, which do you like best?" Deidara asks before practically shoving the two journals in my face. I look at the two for a moment before pointing at the black one with blue designs on the front.
"Figures." Shizu mumbles. I punch him in the back of the head and he groans in pain, his hands flying up to massage the forming bump.
"What'd you do that for?!?" Shizu yells through gritted teeth, and a scowl present on his features. I roll my eyes and walk off the the front of the store to find the cashier and pull out my black card. Once he sees it he nods and I began to leave.
"We can't leave without paying!" Deidara yells and I just look back at him and nod, and continue to walk out of the door. He begins to apologize to the cashier, but the cashier explains what the card was and Deidara nods in understanding. He and Shizu then run to catch up to me.
"So can you get anything with that card?" He asks. I nod my head yes. We then make our way to the weapons store.
"Ah! Shizu, how are you! And you've brought your friend and girlfriend I see." He says, pointing at Deidara. It takes all I have in me to keep a flat face. He and Deidara then began to yell at the shop keeper about how Deidara isn't a girl. After the argument, Shizu finally gets to the point about why we are here.
"Okay boss. I need a weapon pouch, and a set of right handed kunai and shuriken, and also some bandages." Shizu says. The man walks into the back room and brings in the set of kunai and shuriken.
"What color weapon pouch?" He asks. Deidara and Shizu look back at me then turn around to the man again.
"Black." They say in unison. I grit my teeth as the shop owner laughs his butt off. Once he gets everything onto the glass counter, I pull out the black card and show it to the man. He nods and starts to bag everything up but I stop him. He looks at me confused, but I walk up the the counter and place my hands on the weapons and close my eyes, testing a theory I had with my katana.
Shizu, Deidara, and the shop owner looks at me confused, but soon their eyes widen as my hands begin to glow, and my weapons begin to transform into the same looking design as my katana. Speaking of that, I need a holster. I pull out my katana and lay it on the counter.
When I look at the guys, their jaws are hanging to the floor and their eyes are about to pop out of their heads. I nudge my katana closer to the man as he stutters and walks back into the back room. When I turn around to face the guys, they're looking at me with questioning stares.
"HOW DID YOU DO THAT?!?" Shizu yells, his face reflecting that of amazement. I just shrug my shoulders in response. Finally, the shop keeper comes back with my katana holster, but when he picks the blade up, he freezes completely. I just look at him with a questioning look evident on my face.
"You-you are a-a Dāku!" He yelled as he gets onto the floor and bows. I looked at him shocked and run around to the another end of the counter and grab the pen from my pocket and paper from the counter.
"What do you know? And you can't tell anyone about who I am."
