Pearl was really worried. Lion would not stop bouncing around the house. He was jumping on the couch, running around the table, and he was literally jumping off the walls. Pearl was pacing the living room wondering when Steven will come home from Connie's.
"Ooh, Steven please come home! I can't take anymore of this!" Pearl threw her arms in the air and plopped down on the floor. Lion then quickly turned his head and looked at Pearl with his beady eyes. He then stared slowly walking towards Pearl.
Pearl started backing away as Lion got closer. "Oh no, no, no, no, no. You, back away now!" Now Lion's face was right in front of her face. Pearl closed her eyes and turned her head away. She never told Steven, but she was actually really afraid of Lion. I mean, he was a real live lion living in there house!
Lion tilted his head and looked at Pearl. Then he plopped down on her lap. "Oof! Why, you! Get off me!" Lion didn't even move an inch.
Amethyst walked in the room and went over to the fridge, not noticing Pearl. "Amethyst! Help!" Amethyst looked over at Pearl and waved. "Oh hey P." Then she went back to what she was doing.
"Ugh, Amethyst! Your useless." Pearl tried to get Lion off herself but he was a bit too heavy. Pearl sighed and looked down at Lion. He was asleep. Well, Pearl thought, he is pretty cute. Pearl brought her hand down to Lion's head and started to pet him.
Lion lifted his head up and looked at Pearl. "Oh alright, you are pretty cute. I give up!" Lion yawned and stretched out, then nestled back on Pearl's lap.
Pearl could hear someone talking outside and then the door swung open. "I'm ho-o-ome!" Lion got up so he could go greet Steven. Steven pet Lion's head. "Hey, Lion!" Pearl got up and dusted herself off. Her legs felt a little numb too. Well that's probably from Lion sitting on me, Pearl thought.
"Oh, hey Pearl!" Steven looked over to Pearl and waved. Pearl waved back. "Hello Steven, How was your time with Connie?"
"It was good. We went to the beach and made sand castles, then we went to go get something to eat, then we went to go ride the some of the rides at the carnival!"
"Sounds fun." Pearl nodded. "Well,um, why was Lion so worked up earlier today?"
"Oh that, I gave Lion some catnip. Wasn't it cute?" Steven said.
Pearl nodded her head and looked at Lion. "Cute."
