Chapter 31

Inside the infirmary, the young children were beside the sleeping blonde, waiting for her to wake up. Natsu looking at his friend's face, he hold her hand for her face looks like she's in pain, sweat rolling into her forehead, when erza wiped it with a towel.

" what the hell.... This is the second time she got in trouble. And all of it is because she met me. " natsu cursed himself trembling while holding lucy's hand. guilt overwhelming him.

"It's not your fault ,Natsu.." Gray comforted him out of nowhere but only received a glare

"not my fault? " he quickly stood up breaking his hand free from the sleeping girl "How does that face of hers means not my fault?!, I met her, then invited her to go here...she got in trouble, now what? It happened again,right?!" he shouted his hands turned into fist

"lucy is..." gray murmured

"HUH? Speak loudly, I can't hear you, idiot!!" natsu shouted, impatient at gray

" from that time, lucy remembered the memories about us." Erza continued gray's sentence "but that 'memory' that she had remembered is too much for her to take in" she explained further then looked at natsu with a hint of question from her and an answer from him "what do you think it is?" she asked him obviously.

Natsu reminisced, then a single event popped out of his head.

The realization is glued all over his face... "damn it....of all memories we have spent, why that?" he cried holding again her hand

Erza looked down " remembering the past is a painful thing" she whispered

"Natsu?" a familiar gentle voice, that natsu is waiting for like forever to hear. "why are you crying?" she continued

" Lucy! " Natsu stood up, a glimpse of happiness in him, but fades away suddenly when he saw her tears

"hey...Are you okay? Uhh......are you hurt somewhere? Does your head hurt?" he asked concern about her

"eh? Why am I crying?" she hold herself in "my......a sudden dirt went to my eyes.....and..." she looked at her friends, and their expression said to it that they're blaming theirselves because of her current situation

" guys don't make that look....I'm perfectly fine. See?" she stretched her arms and moved it up and down.... Erza then patted her head.... Then her tears continuously run through her face

" I......I'm sorry natsu....everyone....because of me, you guys are badly injured. I'm sorry!" she cried and cried, natsu who failed to react about her situation, without further ado, he hugged her gently.

" idiot, I'm the one who needs to apologize...I'm sorry " he uttered

" I remember everything...the rose, the game, that tragedy...because of me, you guys went too much trouble to save me.....I..." lucy stopped when she realized that erza, levy and lisanna suddenly hugged her

" you didn't do anything wrong lucy." Erza caressed her head

" wherever where lu-chan is in trouble, we'll find you" levy smiled

" natsu's cry disease is fatal, lucy got it immediately from him" she chuckled

" yeah right, so you mustn't see him cry lucy, his burned ash disease will get to you" gray crossed his arm.

Lucy's friends laughed along with her and natsu, making her heart and feelings satisfied.

Layla who is eavesdropping, made her way out of the guild, and turn her back against the wall beside the guild doors

" Perhaps, it's still early for natsu to come inside the gate. " a voice heard near layla. " you're right" is all she can reply

" changing the past will also change the future, a taboo will be made" the voice said " I know " layla's answered with no hesitation. " and I also have no time left, I'll do every second what is right" she continued

" until my body can still move, I'll leave no evidence of me, has been vanished from this world, may the future will bring those those kids happiness, and your wish to come true...." She looked up, layla's face smiling gently, she is wary of his presence fading away, and is completely gone before she could say his name......

" I hope lucy will be happy on my decision also" she added.

In the dark alleyway....the guy whom layla just had a conversation with started to walk away through the narrow alley, but then a long wavy haired girl walked past him running as if she's in a hurry...

The girl stopped her tracks , looked behind her, but saw none, she suddenly shrugged it off  then continued her pace, as if nothing happened.
