Ah, I guess I was full of myself on this one.

Blood streamed down my forehead from a blade that grazed me before. A level 4 assassination is usually meant for teams but I decided to act alone due to my conceitedness. But maybe this will prove my skills once and for all, possibly my end.

I was sore and didn't feel like moving for a moment.
I kept silent in a tall berry bush hopefully not to be detected by the henchmen patrolling. I counted before, about 23 of them. Five of them were foreigners that I didn't account for in the document.

"Look around! He shouldn't have gone far! Close the gates!"

There was heavy marching and creeping of metal bars. I knew that the situation had turned for the worst. What luck, I took a deep breath.

They won't find me if I stay here, I'll wait till dusk. I have already assassinated the mastermind behind this business, my job is done. But leaving the rest unfinished, doesn't sound logical.

Later tonight, when everyone has gone back inside, this place with blow into oblivion.

I need to know Nagisa's whereabouts, so for the past several days I returned to HQ to nag, even if it meant using my mornings and skipping school again.
Maybe I should of emailed Koro-sensei that I got sick.

"H-how should I know which case he's on?!"
Ritsu burst from her growing stressed while Itona was busy searching for any hints on his laptop.

"Why are you even here? You are the reason why Nagisa is in this mess." Ritsu rolled her eyes.

"Nagisa been at it all month you know." Itona said. "He finishes one and then moves on without a break. Nagisa rarely does them in order too, just whatever he feels like doing."

"Isn't there like..." I rubbed my temples, "doesn't he call when he's finished with an assassination? Any indicator that could tell us his location?" I asked them.

The door of the office opened and a man in a black suit like the rest of the members here stared at us all. Hey I assume that he is that Karasuma guy I saw before.

"Usually it's up to the assassin. In Nagisa's case, he would come back after each mission to reload. Times like this, killing is breathing for him." He said as it was noticeable that he was eavesdropping.

"What do you do when he doesn't come back? Or anyone in this department?" I questioned.

"Well. One, we assume that they are busy and keeping track on their assassinations on their own. Or two, they have failed and got themselves killed." Itona spoke.

"I don't like the sound of number two." I pointed out. "He wouldn't, would he?"

"It's Nagisa we're talking about. This department doesn't track the members for security sake if the MD was ever breached." Itona sighed, "lately his eyes look as if he's prepared to die."

Itona's last comment got to me and my heart began to beat achingly.
It can't be true.

"He's a risk taker. He's probably on a level 4 by now." Ritsu said without inflection.

She stared into my eyes without any emotions, just dead like fish. Even though I didn't know what she meant, it felt bad either way.

Once the moon had presented itself to the lonesome stage, I army crawled and kept my profile low along the grassy field. At each corner of the house and it's critical spots, I deployed pressured bombs that explode with a remote or if someone activates them  by touch.
