There was a strange looking cube which he was carrying on the back. It was grey with some kind of heart on it and didn't match with his tall, thin figure.
He couldn't remember since when he had it.
It was too long ago that - ...

He also couldn't remember which year he was living in actually.
It was too long ago that - ...

But he could remember since when the cube wasn't talking to him anymore.
- Since he took his medicaments.

I'm insane.
But madness makes a genius.

Of course the Companion Cube didn't talk to him!
He grinned, but somehow his face managed to stay serious at the same time.

I'm glad the pills were in the locker.
I'm glad the keys worked.

I'm glad the dizziness in my head went away as fast as it had come.

He also knew how long he stood there already.
How long he stood in front of this big fat grey wall, stared at it and did nothing.
- It must have been a while.

And the look was worth it.
This wall, so ugly and empty and still the most beautiful wall of Aperture Science's facility, would get his own personal warning for the subject with the redacted name.

He took the pen he once had found in the older parts of the facility, deep down in the earth where access already had been forbidden when he was younger.

The cake is a lie.

He wrote.

Yes, I might have something for weird prologues... xD
