Lucas still couldn't believe that little bitch played him.

He was angry, like how long had she being doing this? Like was her baby even his?

At this point he didn't care.

He sat on the couch, his head in his palms.

"What's up? You OK?"

Lucas looked up to see Louie, Ruso's younger brother.

"Nothing, man. What are you doing here?"

"Dad wanted me to give something to Ruso. Have you seen him around anywhere?"

Lucas shook his head. "No, I haven't seen him since Tuesday."

Louie raised an eyebrow "But it's Thursday."

Lucas shrugged and got up. He then headed upstairs.

He needed a rest to take his mind of Kristina.

That bitch wasn't worth the stress.

-------

Ruso sat in his room with his head in his arms.

He didn't think he could do this anymore.

He loved Lucas too much to pretend to be his friend anymore. It hurt too much.

His phone rang and he ignored it. It stopped then rang again. He glanced at the screen.

"Louie"

Ruso flipped the phone over. When it rang two more times. He opened the back of the phone and took the battery out.

He continued to sit in the dark silence before there was a soft knock at the door.

"Ruso." Louie called. "I know you're in there."

Ruso ignored his younger brother.

"I know you're in there. I can hear you breathing!" He exclaimed a little louder.

"Lou, what are you doing?" Lucas asked outside Ruso's door.

"I'm talking to my brother."

"He isn't in there. He hasn't been home since Tuesday."

"He is. I can hear him breathing."

Ruso angrily got up, opened the door and pulled his brother in the room in under a second.

He turned the lock on the door and glared at his brother.

"What?"

Louie made a face at Ruso. "Why do you look and and smell like death?"

"If you don't tell me what they fuck you came here for, I swear Lou!"

"Ok, OK," Louie said raising his hand in surrender. "Dad wanted me to pass this to you."

Louie gave Ruso the golden envelope he had in his pocket.

Ruso ripped open the envelope and saw that it was a card.

Inside the card read, '

'Miriam Sanchez's Birthday Ball, 14th of July.

Dress Code : Formal

Venue: Sanchez Suites 7- 11 pm '

Ruso looked to the bottom of the card as there was an after note.

Ruso please attend with Lucas - Mother.

Ruso rolled his eyes, he didn't want to go but it was his Mother and he loved her. There's no way he could skip it.

He was also angry at himself for not remembering his mother's birthday was today.

Ruso looked back at Louie. "Tell him to be read in twenty. I won't wait."

Louie headed toward the door. "Sure."

------

Ruso finished his shower and got ready as quickly as possible.

He fixed the lapels of his suit and straightened his tie. He then grabbed his phone, which he had reassembled and placed it in his pocket.

Ruso arrived downstairs to see Lucas waiting, fixing his tie in the mirror by the door.

Lucas noticed Ruso and walked over to him. He tried to fix Ruso's hair. Ruso moved his head to the side. "No, don't."

Ruso angrily snatched up his keys and headed to the car.

Lucas locked the door before sliding in the car afterwards.

Lucas watched as the gate slowly slid open. He twirled his thumbs. "Ruso, I'm ...."

"Don't..." Ruso said, clenching his teeth.

Ruso turned a sharp corner and sped down the road.

"I'm sorry."

"I said don't tell your fucking sorry. I'd prefer to see you with Kristina than to hear you tell me you're sorry you can't love me back. I don't want to feel fucking sorry for myself." Realizing what he said Ruso slammed his palm against the steering wheel.

"Ruso, I never knew that...."

"Do not say a word."

They soon pulled up outside the hotel. Ruso jumped out the car and tossed the keys to a valet parker.

"This is going to be a long night." He mumbled to himself.
