"So goalie or forward?" Marc asked, holding up both kinds of skates. We were in the locker room where people were putting on their skates and helping their family's. it wasn't crowded really, but there were a lot of kids running around and laughing.
"Goalie" I answered him and he handed them to me, "Thanks" I smiled and sat down at on of the stalls and began to tie my skates.
When I moved onto my next one, two people sat on my left and right. I looked up and noticed that it was some of the younger players that were at the house. I looked at the one that was on the left and smiled, "your Beau right?" I asked, leaning up to look at him better, he was a very handsome man who was wearing a sweatshirt that had the number 19 on the sleeve.
"That's me" he smiled, "So how do you like it so far?" he asked me, leaning down to tie his skates so I did the same before answering, "Well it's my first day, but it's going good" I smiled at them, "Alex come on!" Estelle yelled, waving here hand at me. I laughed and looked at the two boys, "See you out there."
I followed Estelle out, but she quickly left me for a little boy that had dark brown hair with a pens hat on backward.
I stepped out and skated over to Vero who was talking to some other wives. Scarlett was in her arms looking around at the people that were going by.
She reached out for me, kicking her feet catching her mothers attention.
"Hey, their little one" I smiled at her once she was in my arms and looking at me.
It was nice to be on the ice after two years of staying in normal shoes. The ice had a certain smell that was almost calming to anyone that was in the rink, but there was a hint of smelly guys too.
After skating a few laps Scarlett notices Marc who was standing by the benched. Her arms reached out and her fingers wiggled in a grabbing motion.
I skated over and stopped next to him, close enough for Scarlett to pull on his shirt to get his attention. He looked over and smiled at the both of us.
"How are you guys?" He asked, patting Scarlett back who had her head rested on his neck. "I think were both getting tired" I yawned, putting my hand over my mouth.
"I think Estelle's getting that way too" he laughed looking at his daughter who was skating with the same little boy, but her eyes were closed.
"It looks that way" I laughed, turning back to him, "ill go try to pry Vero away from her chatting" he smiled before skating off.
I hoped over the bench and sat down, looking around at the players. A guy made his way over to me with a smile, Olli I belive.
He sat down next to me a smile, "hiding from the world?" He asked me and I smiled, "possibly" I answered, looking up at him.
Even though we were sitting down I still had to tilt my head slightly upward to look at him, I considered myself average height being 5'6, but he made me feel small.
"Well, then you need some friends. So how long have you been in Pittsburgh?" He asked me, trying to start a conversation as he grabbed an unopened water bottle and opened it.
"Umm five years and two in the orphanage," I told him counting the years on my fingers. He nodded, closing up the water bottle, "can I asked why you were there?" He asked, sounds almost scared to.
I stayed quiet before speaking, "my mom and brother died in a fire, but my dad and I lived. He blamed me for it and now he's jail so ill let you connect the dots" I told him as I looked down at the burn mark that was a good five inches on the side of my arm. My fathers doing. He thought that I should've felt the pain they did
He was quiet for a few minutes connecting the dots. "I'm sorry to hear you went through that" he finally said, but I shrugged.
"It's ok. It doesn't bother me anymore because I know it wasn't my fault, but it still sucks" I said looking up at him with a smiled, trying to lighten the mood.
He smiled, a cute one, "well I'm glad to hear that your ok" he told me and I nodded, "well thanks" I giggled making him laugh, "can I see your phone?" He asked with his hand held out.
I nodded and pulled it out of my back pocket and gave it to him. I watched at he created a new contact and put his name then number before sending a text to himself.
"Here you go" he handed it back right when Marc called my name from the entrance of the tunnel, I stood up and smiled "ill talk to you later Olli" I smiled before walked away as he said goodbye and I returned it.

The drive home was quiet since the girls had fallen asleep the second they were in the car.
I took out my phone and opened up Instagram and took a picture of my self and posted it with the caption 'new start new life' I posted it and scrolled through the feed liking some pictures here and there.
Once we were at the house I climbed out from the vary back seat after the girls were picked up out of their seats.
It was dark out side and the stars were out. My mom loved the stars, she could watch them for hours if she didn't get cold.
"Hey, you coming?" Marc asked from the door that was wide open. "Oh ya sorry," said and ran over to him "its ok"
I followed him up the stairs "night" I said once I got to my door "night kiddo" he said back before walking into Estelle's room to put her in her bed.
I walked in and closed the door. I made my way to the closet and changed into shorts and a loose t-shirt. When I walked back into the bedroom and looked around then I remembered that I hade to open the window so I could sleep.
I got too hot when I sleep so it was a necessity. I opened the door to the balcony, leaving it opened a little before climbing into bed.
"I'm going to be ok" I whispered before closing my eyes.
