"Whoa. This school is enormous." Kayla said. The hall seemed endless. There was a stairwell on each side. Students were walking around everywhere. "Th, this is too big! I can't find my soulmate in here!"
"Again. Tone it done princess." Leah said. Max rested his arm on my shoulder. There was no seniors here to help us or teachers or even welcoming posters.
"I feel very welcomed." Max commented.
"So do I. Very welcomed." (FYI for those you who can't sense sarcasm that was sarcasm)
"All freshmen come to the cafeteria for a warm welcoming." A voice boomed over the speaker. I hope their welcoming was warmer than this.
"Okay Einstein. Where's the cafeteria."
"I. I don't know." They gasped.
"You don't know!?" Leah panicked. Kayla put her hand on my forehead. I tried not to laugh.
"Maybe she has a fever. There's no way she'd just... not know something. Oh no! What are we gonna do. Our map, brain, secret weapon is... is.. is down!" Kayla began to panic. Max suppressed a laugh then took a piece of paper out from his pocket.
"Relax girls. I have a map." He reached into my pocket and pulled my map out. "So does Sophie." What?
"How'd you know I had a map?"
"I know you Einstein. Come on the cafeteria's that way."
Students were still coming when we arrived. A few seniors sat on the stage looking bored out of their minds. They were the exact opposite of welcoming. There were no tables to sit down. Max leaned on my shoulder. Why does he do that? Soon all the freshmen arrived in the cafeteria. A few kind sophomores pointed the way for some freshmen that were lost. I wish they were the ones about to give us the pep talk instead of these clearly uninterested seniors who would leave if the could in a heartbeat.
"Hello freshmen. Welcome to Walker High. Where we walk to success. Yay." One of the senior cheerleaders said with so little enthusiasm, I couldn't believe she was a cheerleader. The next senior stepped up to the microphone.
"Hello people. I hope you had a very warm welcoming. We did our very best to welcome all of you to Walker." Where are the teachers? Let me guess the teachers are just as gloomy. Student began leave.
"Let's leave." Max said to our group. Someone in front of us whispered,
"This is stupid. These people are the gloomiest seniors I've ever seen."
"There's nothing we can do about it. Just let it go." His friend said.
" No. There is something we can do about it. I have an idea." He ran off. His friend didn't bother to chase him. He just face palmed and shook his head. I wonder what his friend is up to?
"Max, did you hear them?"
"No I didn't I'm not nosey." I rolled my eyes.
"He said he was gonna do something about this. Let's stick around do see if he does something."
"Fine, but if we end up sitting through this whole boring pep talk, you have to treat all of us to ice cream after this lame first day of school." Buying ice cream for four people wasn't a problem. Sitting through this beyond boring pep talk was. I saw out of the corner of my eye the boy on the stage. I smirked.
"Okay, but what if I win?" They huddled. I heard them whispering. I couldn't make out what they were saying.
"We have come to an agreement. We will not bother you about anything at all for a week." Woah that was big. Having them not bother me all week was a.... how do I put this.... it's like not having your annoying sibling not bother you for a week. If you're an only child, it's like having that annoying person you know died, because let's be honest, the annoying person at school doesn't compare to how annoying the person at school is. If that's not enough reasoning for you only kids, think about the fact we live under the same roof as the annoying person.
"Deal." The guy peeked out of the curtain. This going to be fun.
A/N: I know I do this like every chapter now, so just deal with it. I know when you don't read my whole chapter. Remember I. am. watching. you. Anyway as you have noticed (if you have noticed) I've been updating really late now as I am doing right now. It's because. 1. I'm lazy 2. My parents keep dragging me out of the house 3. They've been making work on this site called Khan academy because it teaches you math. Anyway if I don't update one day, you know the reason now and I don't have to make an excuse every time.
