I live sleepless nights,
Illuminated by city lights,
Another shot down
Another love drowned,
Fading away, till my dust graces ground,
Altered mind to forget that I'm sleeping alone,
Pavement's my bed and I'm worn to the bone,
Bled to a hopelessness you'll never know
My mind is a jungle of pain and old smoke,
From lost in the sheets- to lost in the streets,
Cold stars are my blanket
'Till sun rises east,
Then 'till it sets west, I'm up on torn feet,
Life hits you hard
When you're cut loose at 18,
A lullaby, that's too sweet to hear,
Brings tears to my eyes
As I strain my ears,
My memories, not quite so clear,
Losing my past is my greatest fear,
For what is a future with nowhere to go?
My swung low sweet chariot
Fell frozen in snow.
