Theia couldn't remember how long she was there for.

kneeling over the world, picking out bits of bone.

the humans were gone and all because of him.

Erebus, the darkness, her only love.

"what have you done?" she asked, rubbing the ashes between her fingers.

"why are you so upset? it was only a planet, only a rock."

Theia felt herself scream.

the sound tore the sky apart and split the tiles.

it shattered the thrones and knocked Erebus off his feet.

a violent light erupted through the cracks, lining Theia in a golden light.

and as she rose to her feet, she looked like an angel.

"I love you," Erebus whispered, shadows leaking from his fingertips.

"you do no love, you destroy. you took the only thing I ever wanted away from me. so now, I'll break you."

Erebus watched as the love of his life raised her hands, and brought them down.

he watched as the marble rose like spikes and knocked him backwards.

he felt the pain in his back, and in his heart.

"I love you," he said again.

but she wasn't Theia, the immortal girl dressed in silver.

she was a goddess.

she did break Erebus, and in the worst way possible.
