Inspiration can strike you like a bolt of lightning: always carry paper and a pencil/pen with you at all times.
It doesn't matter if it's a single sheet of paper, or an entire notebook. And if you have a notes feature on your cell phone or other electronic device, jot down whatever is on your mind there! And if you don't feel very confident using an ink pen (like me-hate scribbling out stuff and writing above or below it), carry a number two pencil with you, or maybe a mechanical pencil.
