Blatant Publicity, Rinse and Repeat

Tell me what you want me to say,
You do it so well, you do,
When you blast out smiles all day,
And you play the victim too.

Do you fish for the roaring applause?
When they praise you like a royal?
Through acting and false cause,
You've set the stage made them all loyal.

You blast your sayings through the air,
But I can see through that shroud,
Your hypocrisy is beyond compare,
And besides your wickedness you're proud.

But it's all hidden behind a charade,
Innocent eyes, false compassion,
You've convinced all of what you'd made,
A perfect version, born of deviant obsession.

Oh, it's all just a ruse, invisible to the norm,
As handshakes and photographs cover it,
Behind each velvet stage, blood and scorn,
You hide all sins in a covered pit.

Lulled by your promises and publicity stunts,
Masses are brought to your waiting feet,
You propagate your dirt to waiting chumps,
Bidding millions just, for leftovers from eats.

And when the crowd grows irked,
Tired of all the repetition you have,
In sudden action, well, you jerk,
And release another blasting jab.

That wakes up senses and turns heads,
You call all back to attention,
A wicked grin signals the cycle again,
Your loving public back for you to mention.
