Scarlett's P.O.V.

There was a sharp pain that welcomed me when I woke the next morning. My whole body was exhausted from the battle that raged in my mind. I sat up slowly as I held my head with one hand.

"God, what hit me?" I groaned. Though the pain was annoying, I noticed it was tremendously less severe than other nights. Positives? I got sleep, and the nightmare ended before I got to watch myself burn alive.

"Here," I jumped a little at the sound of Al's voice, "Winry said this should ease any pain that you have."

"Thanks Al." I sat up to be handed a glass of water and two pills. Popping the pills in and gulping down some water, I finally noticed the weight on my lower waist.
Ed was still sleeping beside me, an arm still secure around my hips. "Um, when did he-?"

"Brother slept in your bed to try and calm you down." Alphonse explained, setting the now empty glass on the nightstand beside us. "You were thrashing around in your sleep."

"Sorry about that. Not a good dream." I murmured. I'm not going to lie, I was still pretty tired, but the choice was stay awake or face the possibility of another nightmare. "What time is it?"

"Somewhere around 5:30 in the morning." Al looked out the window with me, and watched the sun crawl above the tops of the buildings and pooling into the hotel room. Ed shifted beside me and sighed in his deep sleep, but the arm stayed around me. I smiled down at him. "If I may ask, would you like to talk about your nightmare?"

There was a second where I was contemplating the pros and cons, but then I thought: fuck it.

"...alright, I'll tell you, but you can't tell anyone else." I locked eyes with the holes in Al's helmet. "Not even Ed."

"I promise. I won't tell him until you're ready." He promised. I wrung my hands with nervous anticipation.

"It always starts in pure whiteness." I sputtered out. "I'm standing in front of a door. It has intricate symbols of things that I never understand, but in the end, I realize that is my door. I go towards it, and something stops me. It's a feeling that something is behind me; I go to look, and no one is there. There's another door. Though, it's not like the other door....it's, like, disintegrating slowly from one side to another. It has different symbols and gives off an entirely new feel. There's a voice that always catches my attention before I can touch the door.
