It's and its

This is another that commonly confuses people. Sometimes people are in a rush and forget to add the apostrophe.

Its: possessive pronoun
-modifies a noun
Ex. Its hair was blue.

It's: contraction for it is
-think of replacing it with it is
Ex. It's the best meal I've ever had.

Wrong: The cat plays with it's toy.
Wrong: I think its going to be a great day.
