I wake up that morning to no Jackson. Whatever, he confuses me. I do my usual morning routine and drive to school. It's gloomy outside and looks like it's going to storm later. I pull into the school's parking lot and sit until the bell. Jessie and Sara both had some club meeting this morning so I walk to class by myself. It's getting cooler outside from the rain. I'm not really in a talking mood today, more thinking in my head than talking out loud type of day. I want to know what my role in all of this is and why me. I always thought my powers were an amazing gift, but I never thought anything like this would happen. I guess the world (or so I thought) has bigger plans for me.

I get so lost in my thoughts I run into the edge of the classroom door. Everyone in Chemistry just brushes it off and so do I since things like this always happen to me. (I'm actually a very awkward person) I sit down in my seat and say hey to Jessie and Sara. Once the teacher starts to talk the rain starts to fall. It's so dark and grey outside. Not like the usual sunny, humid weather. I write down the notes that are on the board, but I don't really retain much information. Jackson is nowhere to be found which makes me wonder even more about what is going on.

The school day drags on, but the clock finally hits 1:45. The rain has let up, but it doesn't look like it will stop anytime soon. I hate driving in the rain. It makes me nervous for my car because other people suck ass at driving in the rain. It's so gloomy and I finally get home and run inside to escape the now harsh pouring rain and frequent lightning. I get inside and put my things down. I go to the kitchen and open the fridge. While I'm searching tin the fridge I hear footsteps upstairs. I scan for thoughts but I don't find anything. It must be Jackson, greattttttt. I walk up the stairs and see my bedroom door ajar.

"Jackson, get out of my house," I say as I walk through the door.

HAHAHAHA it's not Jackson. It's our maid making my bed.

"Oh sorry I thought you were someone else, Lauren," I say

"Oh, that's ok sweetie. I'll be done with it soon." She says with a big smile.

I turn and start walking back down the stairs, but then I remembered when I checked for people and nothing came up. I turn back around and there it is. A possessed Lauren with black eyes and sharp teeth. Ready to pounce with claws. My automatic choice to run, so that's what I do. As I am running down the stairs I can hear her scratching the wall as she is running towards me. I run to the kitchen to get a knife. I turn around and she lunges for me, but I jab the knife at her. She howls in pain. In return, she sends her claws deep into my right arm leaving a deep, bleeding gash.

"That should teach you a lesssssson not to fight  you know you can't win," possessed Lauren says.

She has a forked tongue just like a snake. I laugh (I can't help it. I laugh when I'm in trouble). I immediately regret it, because she tries to lash out at me again. I jump back. Jackson then appears with a knife in hand. She lunges for him, but he jabs the knife right into her heart. She goes limp.

"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING!" I yell at him.

"This is a full-blooded demon," he says with a smile.

"WHY IS IT AFTER ME!" I'm trying to get over the fact that I was just attacked by a thing I never even thought was real.

"You'll find out later," he says and then disappears.

I run into my parent's bathroom and take a look at my arm. The cut is deep but I can handle it. I have a pretty high pain tolerance. While I'm wrapping my arm my phone starts buzzing. No caller ID. I pick up anyway (dumb idea, I know).

"Bree, remember when we said you'd find out why we'd need you?" It's Leo's voice.

"Yea, I would love to know. I just got attacked by a fucking demon," I say somewhat still pissed off.

"Well if you want to find out then meet us at the address I send you," Leo says.

The line goes dead and I secure my bandage. I look down at the iPhone screen and see the address. I run to grab my keys. It's pouring and almost pitch black outside.

"What the actual fuck is going on."
