Chapter 14 || Bloody angel

"Not so fast sweetheart," Aaron pointed his gun at us with a wicked grin.

We all froze. Aaron, he is going to shoot. No. No he wouldn't. He wouldn't shoot. I knew that he aiming it right at us, but I had a feeling he wouldn't-no- I knew he couldn't.

One step, two, three, four. I walked up to him, not breaking our eye contact. My heart was beating out of my chest.

I know, stupid move.

His fingers curled around the trigger more tightly. Calm yourself Emma! I was face to face with him. I'm one swift motion, I brushed past him.

Bang

...

He dropped his gun.

I blinked a couple times then sighed. No blood. I'm alive too. "W-what?" Tanner stepped cautiously to him then frowned. "Why-"

"Tanner, get away from him," Rucas yanked his collar and pulled him back. "Let's leave this hellhole."

"You'd leave David?" Aaron smiled mischievously.

Yes, I would. He hates me and I, him. Is what I wanted to say, however I couldn't. I just glared at him through narrowed eyes. "Is that a problem?"

"Not really. It's funny how you choose now to be naive."

"What?"

He laughed "no it's nothing."

"Okay we're done with your talking hole," Xavier said, walking towards the gate. A hand shot out and gripped his shoulder. "Y'know I was totally not myself 5 minutes ago. This time, one move, you're dead," Aaron threatened.

No one dared move. Aaron aimed his gun at my chest then smirked. "I'm very sorry that things have to turn out this way, goodnight little Robin-"

"Hold it!" I had to find some way to stall. Xavier, if you can't think of a plan, I'm so going to kill you.

"Hmm what is it Robin?"

"I-I..." I shot a look to Xavier. "I have a negotiation to make."

I got confused stares and surprised looks. Even Xavier himself had a questioning expression. Jeez, so much for being the "brains" to father's gang. "Oh?" Aaron narrowed his eyes.

"This place is planted with explosives. Let us go or watch you and your mansion get turned into ashes."

Aaron's frowned twisted into laughter. One that echoed beyond. "Now now chica, this is no time for your jokes."

"Oh but this isn't a joke," Xavier stepped forward with a strange round black object. "Would you like to test us?"

Aaron grimaced at him. "Press it if you dare."

Rylan's eyes widened. "D-do you n-not c-care?" He stuttered with anger.

"I'm really going to press it!" Xavier spatted with a bead of sweat forming.

"Go ahead."

Silence.

"You think that I'll fall for something so stupid? Everyone in the world knows about this method. At least try to think of something original," Aaron sighed. His dark eyes locked onto mine like a wolf hunting it's prey. "I've actually grown to not dislike you, however, I can't afford weaknesses. If I don't do this then I'll regret it afterwards so, goodnight princess..."

Bang

There was blood.

My vision is hazy.

My whole body felt heavy.

I'm still breathing.

But I got shot... Right?

A bright white light is all I could see. I felt no pain, but I felt weight on me, how's that possible? Red sunk into my vision then a frowning face. It's like a bloody angel. My vision cleared. I let out a small gasp as I took in what I saw.

A bloody angel.

Why did he save me?
