Tonight I look forward to seeing Kimberly. She seems like a nice girl, and she's the only person close to my age that talks to me. So I went ahead and sat on her bench, waiting till she arrives.
The rustle of leaves. Cold wind blew the hair from my face, and I ran my fingers through it.
"Hi," a soft voice said. I turned to see Kimberly, looking all pretty with her hair up in a bun. I waved, then she sat down next to me. The bench is pretty small, so there was no space between us. I cleared my throat, and she brushed a piece of hair out of her face.
"Am I intruding something?" I stood up, about to leave. Then Kimberly reached out to touch my hand. I started to blush, and so did she. Kimberly pulled me back onto the bench.
"No. Stay. I like the company," she smiled. I gave her my trademark grin and she laughed. God, she has a beautiful laugh.
"So...Kim...tell me about you."
Then, all of a sudden, she stood up and backed away, her eyes watering. "I'm sorry, I have to go," she whispered, running away.
"Kimberly!" I yelled.
She never turned back.
