Why is it that Joseph must act like they want him to? Why is it?
He’s good at science. Great even. But does he love chemistry the way he loves the feel of writing stories? The way he loves the feel of a paintbrush blending watercolours or the way the paper moves as he turns the page of a book?
The simple answer: no.
No he doesn’t. And he never will.
So he doesn't want to waste his time fulfilling other people’s expectations on him. He wants to fulfil his own.
But sadly many fail to recognise this. They just see him as a selfish angst ridden teenager.
Who in hindsight, he probably is.
So, yet again Joseph couldn’t find the will to get out of bed. So he screamed profanities into his pillow and went back to sleep.
He slept for two days.
And then he woke up, but more importantly, he actually got up.

I know it's short, but it was necessary and the next one is long. And may or may not (it does) include a certain girl. ;) I have it written. But I won't post it yet.
