A lot of people say that your past doesn't define you, & I completely agree. It doesn't define you. You are not your past. Whatever happened to you or whatever is happening to you doesn't say who you are. However, it is what helps build who you are. Your past can make you see things differently and feel about things differently.
My past helped build me into so much. In fact so much that it'll be too much to write. Your past as well has helped build you into so much.
You have walked through fires and storms. You have walked through anguish, heartache, sadness, and anger. But you have also walked through love, happiness, acceptance, and understanding. And these are the things that have helped build you.
Smile.
Smile because you have survived so much and you have not given up.
Smile because you're alive.
That is something to be immensely proud of.
