Brianna's POV
My wedding has finally started to come closer. And it wasn't easy.I remembered having to deal with Nate after the proposal. Honestly, I couldn't have dreaded anything more. It was the absolute worst timing to get engaged to Grayson but I couldn't lead Nate on any longer. He had to open his eyes and see for himself what else there is ensured for him. For instance, Madison seemed to have taken a liking to him. He found it absolutely preposterous. But I thought it was quite cute actually, I guess Nate never had someone after him. They'd make such a great couple.
After the arguments between Grayson and his father, he has finally gotten to be a doctor. And as a obligation to fit the expectations of a Mrs. Grayson Dolan, I became a nurse. Most of the family were shocked when I announced it. I don't know if I felt more embarrassed or more upset that none of them believed in me. But Grayson had my back, he seemed impressed with my perseverance. An I was determined to make sure he doesn't think lowly of me again.
Now if it weren't for the Dolans, I would have never been able to afford to come to this small French wedding dress boutique with chandeliers that hung from the ceiling above the dresses lined along the cream colored walls. I came with Lisa of course, she would hold a grudge against me forever if I left her out of her favorite part of planning the wedding. The second we came into the store, she was just like a skipping child in a candy store, literally telling me toe try on anything that seemed to sparkle in her eyes. Of course I told her that I would have been fine with a plain white dress, but she wouldn't have it.
"Come on Briiiiiii!" she sighs exasperated.
"Its been a few hours and you haven't even found a few dresses you would like to try on!"
"I'm so sorry Lisa," I felt the guilt pooling in. But I just didn't want to spend so much on a dress that I'll only wear once. Yeah, its my wedding with freaking Grayson Dolan but, maybe Grayson isn't worth that much? No, I can't believe I thought that. If I think about it that way, then yes. Marrying Grayson is enough for me to want to spend my wedding day beautiful.
"You could go home first if you're tired." She snorts like a teenage girl,
"Nonsense darling!"I turned a full 180 and analyzed what dress could possiblylive up to Grayson Dolan's expectations. This was impossible! I felt like giving up but then what would I tell him. Tell him he is getting married to a quitter? Something as easy as getting a wedding dress with no financial difficulty might I add, and I couldn'tt accomplish it.
Just then I felt two arms wrap over my shoulders and pull my back to their chest.
"What have you been doing? Standing here like a clueless idiot." the husky voice breathed into my ear. Yep, thats my awfully sweet fiance. I blushed a little, knowing I have been caught. I turned in his arms and pouted at him.
"I'm stuck."
"When do you ever not need me to save you?" he laughed. I frowned, looking at the ground. He was right. I always need him by my side, its like I'm useless without him. How pathetic. I haven't changed at all from freshman year, can't do anything right on my own.Grayson seemed to have felt my change in mood because he tilted my chin up and gave me a deep kiss on my lips. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he gave me lighter pecks on my lips then my nose.
"Don't ever look at that. I love saving you. There isn't a day I want to miss being the superhero who saves your ass. I mean, I certainly play the role right?" his loving eyes faded as a smirk emerged on his lips.
"You know, with all my hot looks." I smacked him,
"Stop gloating, it isn't attractive."
"It was attractive enough for you to fall for me, didn't it? he countered as he tried to connect our lips again.
"Nuh-uh, no kisses for you." I held him back, remembering that Lisa was still here.
"I still have a dress to find."
"That one." he flicked his head towards the shop window. I looked where he indicated and didn't know why I didn't see that dress when I first walked past the window. It looked so perfect though, could I possibly look good in such a dress?
"Are you sure?" I asked wearily.
He rolled his eyes at me. Fine then, I thought begrudgingly, don't give your wife the reassurance she needs.
