Plot: In the distant future, a majority of humans have left the Earth, and the Galactic Alliance of Humanity is founded to guide exploration and ensure the prosperity of mankind. However, a significant threat arises in the form of strange creatures called Hideauze, resulting in an interstellar war to prevent humanity's extinction. Armed with Chamber, an autonomous robot, 16-year-old lieutenant Ledo of the Galactic Alliance joins the battle against the monsters. In an unfortunate turn of events, Ledo loses control during the battle and is cast out to the far reaches of space, crash-landing on a waterlogged Earth. On the blue planet, Gargantia—a large fleet of scavenger ships—comes across Chamber and retrieves it from the ocean, thinking they have salvaged something of value. Mistaking their actions for hostility, Ledo sneaks aboard and takes a young messenger girl named Amy hostage, only to realize that the residents of Gargantia are not as dangerous as he had believed. Faced with uncertainty, and unable to communicate with his comrades in space, Ledo attempts to get his bearings and acclimate to a new lifestyle. But his peaceful days are about to be short-lived, as there is more to this ocean-covered planet than meets the eye.

Opinion: I'm not really a fan of Mecha, and so this anime won't be shielded from that fact. I simply don't like Mecha, they're almost always the same in a majority of ways and just don't know how to do things Well in my opinion.

This anime did have a rather specific and I suppose unique plot, but really, this show wasn't anything special. The plot was as I said original, but it wasn't an amazing story, it certainly wasn't a great story. The plot of This anime was meh, it was a cool idea in some ways, but I just didn't like it that much.

Soundtrack? It was also, Meh. It was good and bad, I liked it at times and didn't at others. This anime just has a way of making you split down the middle with it. For the majority of the elements for this anime I was tied. Loved and hated.

Characters? Here's where the anime stands out. The characters were the highlight of the anime, and were all done rather well to me. I fairly enjoyed each and every characters in my own way for my own reason. However, while the character were the best part, there is a major flaw. The relationship development between the protagonist and the heroine. See, it was very heavily implied through the whole show that the two would be together. They  were the ship of the show! But what happens? Main character defies all odds, nothing new there, goes back to everyone.

He runs into her and what happens? Well absolute nothing. "Yo!" like a casual greeting. No hugs, kisses or "I love you" / "let's be together"

The development came to an absolute halt at the very end! Which is something you cannot do in an anime like this! However, I'd like to give the anime a perk of the best dub voice acting I've ever heard.
