Naruto sat on the floor of the mission administration office, completely bored out of his mind. "I could be creating more puppets right now, if I weren't here right now," he thought annoyed. "Kit, you really need to cool it. I know that you want to continue on your...project, but you need to continue and deal with these people," Kurama said. "Oh shut it, fox. I am not in the mood to deal with your shit," Naruto growled mentally.

Before Kurama could reply, Hiruzen cleared his throat. "Excuse me, Naruto, but are we interrupting something?" he asked. Naruto glared up at the Hokage. "Of course not, continue," he said. Hiruzen nodded, "As I was saying, I think it's time for Squad Seven to go on their C-ranked mission," he said.

Naruto grinned, "Fabulous, who are we offing?  A dictator? A crazy Kage that needs to be taught a lesson?" he asked excited. "Umm...no, that's more of an A-ranked or S-ranked mission," Hiruzen said as he and the rest of the room sweat dropped.

"Damn, you people are no fun," Naruto pouted as he sat back down. "Umm...instead, you will be escorting a bridge builder back to his country of the Wave," Hiruzen said. "Oh, how boring, can't we just we just chop up the client, and ship him off to his country in a box and be done with it?" Naruto muttered. "Naruto, that is not how we do things around here," Kakashi said in a scowling tone of voice. "Really? It would makes things easier if you did," the blonde puppeteer replied.

Hiruzen cleared his throat loudly, "Anyways, I want you four take on this mission. I have no doubt that you will be able to take on this mission with any difficulty. Now, do you accept?" he asked. Kakashi glanced at his Genins, and nodded. "Squad Seven accepts," he announced. Hiruzen nodded, and stamped the mission with the approval stamp. "Laaaame!" Naruto complained, but no one payed attention to him. "Send in Tazuna," Hiruzen called.

A few minutes later, a man walked into the room with a jug full of alcohol. "What the hell is this? I paid go-" he started, but was instantly cut off by Naruto. "I'll stop you right there. I feel like I've already heard this before. You say that you paid good money, insult us, I threaten to kill you, so on and so forth: so let me make this short on all of us. Everyone go packed up and meet up at the east gate. OK? OK. Good bye," Naruto said as he walked out of the room.

The occupants of the room stayed silent in shock. "Well, that was interesting...You heard him, you two, let's get going," Kakashi said as glanced at his two remaining students. Sasuke and Sakura nodded, and walked out of the room.

~Konoha, East Gate~

Naruto sat on top of a pile of logs, bored out of his mind. "Hey, Kurama, can I ask you something?" he asked. "Sure, it's not like I have anything else to do," the Kyuubi replied. "What do you think it would be like to be a bird? You know, what would it feel like to fly by yourself?" Naruto asked. "Kit, it sounds like you're thinking about the past again," Karuma said. Naruto snorted, "How can I not? After all the crap that the villagers put me through," he pointed out. "Fair point," Kurama replied as he lowered his head down onto his paws.

The puppeteer rolled his eyes again, and glanced up to see Sakura and Sasuke walking up to him. "You two seem to be connected at the hip, when's the wedding?" he asked teasingly. "Wedding?" Sakura asked as her face grew completely red. Naruto snorted in amusement. "Too easy," he murmured with an eye roll.

Someone cleared their throat, and the three looked towards the gates to see their sensei and client standing there. "You three ready?" Kakashi asked with an eye smile. Naruto rolled his eyes, and jumped off the pile of logs. "About time you get here, let's go, I'll take lead," he said as a scroll slipped out of his robes, and threw it up into the air.

A puff of smoke appeared in the air, and quickly disappeared to reveal a wooden bird with red markings. Naruto raised his hand up, and a chakra string shot out of his finger, and he pulled himself up to his puppet.

The puppet screeched as Naruto landed on its back. "Now, how about we get going? I'll give us an aerial view from the sky," he yelled down to his squad as he stood up, and chakra strings shot from his fingers. Naruto flexed as fingers, and the wooden bird flew off. Kakashi looked up at his student. "Alright, everyone, let's get going," he announced. Sakura and Sasuke nodded as they got into their formation around the bridge builder.

~Timeskip~

Hours passed, and nothing out of the normal happened. Naruto continued to keep a watch from the sky, while Kakashi and his other two students guarded the bridge builder. Every once and awhile, Naruto would glance down at the ground to see if his squad was still alive.

Kakashi glanced up at the wooden bird, "How the heck does he know how to make a puppet, and a flying puppet at that?" he thought briefly. The Jonin looked back at the road, and continued to walk. Suddenly, two shinobis appeared out of a puddle, aiming to attack Tazuna. Before they were able to reach the Jonin, two puppets fell down from the sky, and caught their gauntlets. "That was close, Hatake, you let your guard down. Thankfully, I was keeping your rear guarded," Naruto said as he flew lower to the ground.

"How? You couldn't have seen them from way you there," one of the ninjas said surprised. Naruto grinned as he raised his finger, and one of his wooden beetles landed on his fingers. "My little pets kept an eye on them," he said. "The bugs from the bell test," Kakashi said surprised. Naruto's grin turned into a smirk as he snapped his fingers, and the two shinobis were covered by the wooden beetles.

"Tell me what I want to know, or I'll have my little pets kill you. Now start talking," Naruto ordered as he raised his hand, ready to snap his fingers. Both of the shinobis growled, and glared at the puppeteer. "You wouldn't dare," one of them growled. Naruto grinned, "These little buggers are able to do a lot of things. Explode, send out ear shattering sound waves, and drain chakra from your bodies. So I suggest that you don't make a single move," he suggested.

Both of the assassins stiffened, and Naruto laughed again. "Now start chirping, birdies, or I'll be killing you two right here and now," he said. The two looked at  each other, and growled. "Fine," one of them said. Naruto smirked, "Get talking, Demon Brothers, before my fingers accidentally slips," he said. "Fine, we're working for the man known as Gato. We were assigned to kill the bridge builder before he gets to the Wave," one of the brothers said.

Naruto sighed, and shook his head, "I'm so sorry that you were roped into that moron's business, but it's your fault for being complete idiots," he said with a shrug. "What the heck are you talking about?" one of the brothers asked annoyed. Naruto rolled his eyes, and prepared to snap his fingers. "I have no further use for you," he said. "Naruto, wait," Kurama said as his eyes opened inside the seal. Naruto blinked a little. "What is it, fox? I'm about to execute these morons," he asked annoyed.

"Think for a second, kit, maybe you should try putting these idiots to work," Kurama suggested. "You've got me interested, continue," Naruto said. "How about you use one of your special puppet bugs and turn them into your slaves," Kurama said. Naruto started to chuckle, and that chuckle soon turned into a full blown laughter. "I love the way you think, Kurama! I might just give you a body after all!" he yelled out loud. "Umm...Naruto?" Kakashi asked confused.

Naruto looked down on the two brothers, and smirked. "Alright, Demon Brothers, after some reconsidering. I decided not to kill you," he announced as he lowered his hand. The brother sighed in unison, but their relief was short lived. "I'm not done yet, you two are going to work for me for the rest of this mission," the puppeteer said. "And what if we don't want to," one of the brother growled. The puppeteer grinned as he reached into his pocket, and pulled his fist out. When he opened his hand, two new wooden bugs flew out of it and onto the two brothers.
