Ashton sat awkwardly on the couch opposite of Michael, the green eyed boy looking at Ashton with an unreadable look in his eyes.

After being forced into the pale boy's car, the two had waited for Luke and the other stranger before being taken to Michael and Luke's apartment.

The car ride was completely silent the whole time with only Luke daring to put his hand on Michael's thigh lovingly.

The tanned stranger had introduced himself as Ashton's boyfriend when the group finally arrived at Luke and Michael's apartment. Michael hadn't said anything since they left the grocery store, leaving Luke to introduce themselves and explain what was going on.

"Why the fuck do I have ears and a tail?" Michael says suddenly, causing Luke to tsk. "Love calm down, I'm sure he'll explain."

Luke only receives a glare in response before Michael turns back to Ashton who was fidgeting uncomfortably. "Well, it's kind of a long story."

"I've go time." Michael muses. Ashton nods, smiling lightly when Calum reaches over and intwines their hands tightly.

"Basically my parents were like mad scientists and they were working on a formula to create beings that were half animal and half human. As you can imagine no one wanted to volunteer so against my will, they started experimenting on me when I was like twelve or something.

When I was around sixteen or seventeen it finally worked. They were both so happy. They didn't care I was almost fucking dying because of all the shit they injected me with so one night I ran away. No one would believe what they had done if they had no proof."

Ashton pauses for a second, looking up at Michael and Luke with teary hazel eyes before continuing.

"I'm not sure what happened to them after I left but one night Calum found me, since I had left Melbourne to come here and was living on the streets. He offered to take care of me and he did, he feed me, gave me clean clothes. After awhile I told him about my parents and he promised to not tell anyone. Since then I've been searching everywhere for other hybrids, one day I was jumped, I don't even remember what happened but I guess they must have taken some of my blood cause there were syringe marks on my neck where my veins are.

When I ran into you today I saw you had the same marks so I'm guessing that the same person that jumped me also got to you and infected you with my blood, hence the ears and tail."

Michael doesn't say anything after Ashton finishes, instead the boy just nods slowly. Luke shifts uncomfortably , the silence that filled the room made his skin crawl.

"Well, um, I guess that explains all the weird shit that's happened." Luke muses deeply, his attempt at starting conversation making Calum smile.

"Why me," Michael suddenly asks quietly, making everyone turn and look at him. "Out of everyone they could of picked, why did they pick me?"

"Honestly," Ashton sighs heavily. "I don't know. When I ran away I thought that was the end of it and after I was attacked I just ignored it the best I could."

Michael nods along to Ashton's words, only looking up when a weight is suddenly next to him. The pale boy looks up to see Ashton smiling down on him lightly.

"I really and sorry all this happened to you Mike," the older male says as he wraps his arm around Michael's hunched shoulders. "But we can't change it, we can only work through it."

"I guess you're right." the black and white haired male nods before sitting up straighter. "Well, I'm going to start dinner. Would you guys like to stay? It's the least we could do."

Calum turns to Ashton before nodding, a smile etching its way onto his face. "Of cause, we would love too. Would you like any help? Ashton is an amazing cook."

Ashton blushes at his boyfriend's words. "I'm not that good." he mumbles quietly.

Michael just laughs before grabbing Ashton's hand and tugging him into the kitchen, leaving Calum and Luke on their own in the living room.

"What did you do when you found out?" Luke suddenly questions, making Calum look at him. "You mean the whole ears and tail thing?"

The blonde nods with a sigh. "I don't care, I really don't but his cried at least once a week since it's happened and I don't know how to help him."

Calum nods, thinking back to when he found out that Ashton was half cat. "The best thing is to just be there for him. Ashton had this massive fear that no one would love him because of how he looked but I was there and now look at him, his so proud of his differences."

Luke nods, tongue darting out to wet his chapped lips. "I hope Michael ends up like that. His so insecure about everything already, I don't want this to make it even worse."

Calum smiles lightly before walking over and giving the blonde a friendly hug. "He'll learn to accept it mate. Just give it time and be there for him, plus now you have me and Ash to help."

Luke smiles as he hugs Calum's back. Everything was going to be okay.
