"What... Ethan what are you doing?" I asked him as he walked closer. The blonde boy walked forwards with a menacing look in his eyes. He laughed and swung his sword around.
"Ha ha ha. You look so weak. What's wrong? Is the little Elementalist scared of me? A simple human. You're pathetic. Someone as weak as you doesn't deserve to live."
"Why are you saying these things? What's wrong with you?"
"I can answer that." Seth began as he stepped forwards. "You see, I can control chaos. Madness is a branch of chaos so I can control that too. I simply used my element to release the madness inside of him, twisting his mind so that he will fight with me, not you. Also, I gave him a little... boost, let's call it that."
 "You bastard, I'll kill you!"
"Go ahead and try if you want," He snapped his fingers. "Get him."
Ethan suddenly charged at me, sword raised. I rolled to the side as he brought his blade down, narrowly missing my neck. He didn't let up the attack however and stabbed at me. I crossed my swords and deflected his attack upwards, then kicked him in the chest making him stumble backwards.
 "Stop it, Ethan!" I exclaimed.
"Why should I take orders from you? You're nothing, you're worse off than the dirt on the bottom of my shoes." He snickered.
"We're friends, you need to put your sword down stop fighting."
In response he slashed at me. I blocked and lunged at him. Sidestepping, he brought his elbow down on the back of my neck. I fell face first into the dirt and my swords skidded away from me. I got on my knees to be met with a kick to the face. I grunted and fell on my back.
"How does it feel to be weak?" Ethan growled.
"You can't let the madness control you, fight it." I muttered.
"You think I care? About you? Any of you?"
"Yes, you do. That's who you are, you care about people and want to help them."
"Ha. As if. Enough of this. It's time for you to die."
As he raised his sword a torrent of water came out of nowhere and hit him square in the chest. He was pushed backwards towards Seth, who looked at what happened.
Jasmine stood with her hand stretched out and everyone else was next to her with their weapons drawn.
 "Ethan, stop." She commanded.
He glared at her. "You can't order me around anymore. No one can. The only one who I serve is Death, and to an extent Seth."
"You've joined sides with the enemy? Why?"
Blaze stepped forwards. "Who cares why. He did it, and now all we need to do is take him out."
 "Go ahead and try."
Blaze ran forwards and stabbed at him, but Ethan brought his blade up and managed to block it, to all of our surprise. Blaze jumped back and blasted fire at the boy but then Seth stepped in front of him, sticking his hand out and blocking it. A crimson glow with green flakes in it ran along the flames and onto Blaze's body. The fire wielder jerked around and fell to the ground. The red aura pulsated around him and seemed to force him to stay down.
"I'm surprised that worked." Seth stumbled.
 "What?" I demanded.
"Well you see, my element usually only enhances me physically along with any object I use. I've never tried to do that before. Glad to see it didn't backfire."
"You bastard. He's your guinea pig?!"
 "Along with your friend, yes."
I tried to stand but fell back to a knee. I was too weak to do anything.
"Don't worry Dark. We can handle this." Sapphire said.
Her and Jasmine stood in front of us.
Sapphire began by summoning a tornado and sending it at the two of them, and Jasmine followed it up by sending an ice spike at Seth specifically.
The chaos Elementalist focused and his arms and hands flowed red and dark green. With all his might he clapped at the whirlwind and dispersed it, also shattering the ice spike.
Ethan charged at the two but Sapphire stepped forwards and swung her bladed staff at him. Bringing his sword up, he pushed the attack away and kicked at her.
She jumped to the side and brought her arm up and then down again. A tree sprouted from the ground and then slammed down on Ethan, creating a cloud of dust. She smirked as the tree sank back into the ground. However as the dust settled Ethan stood right next to where the tree had hit.
"You'll have to do better than that." He simply said.
Meanwhile on Jasmine's side of the battle, things were going more or less the same.
She launched two spikes of ice at him, then shot torrents of water at them to boost their speed and power. Seth brought out two kunai and smashed through the two spikes so Jasmine then made a hand motioning to her and a jet of water appeared behind Seth and blasted him towards her.
She kicked out her leg and struck him in the gut, while he simultaneously struck her in the face with his enhanced fist. They both flew backwards and landed on their feet. Seth recovered first and grabbed her arms, spinning around in a circle before throwing her into the lake. Seth looked over at Ethan's fight and decided to join in.
While they were fighting, I crawled over to Blaze to see if I could help him. The red aura was still around him and he was still twitching. I tried to touch him but immediately was blown back. I crawled over and thought.
 'What do I do?"
I poked my sword at him, carefully and lightly. The glow seemed to try to jump from his body to my sword. I had it!
I looked around and saw a stick on the ground. Picking it up, I brought it over to Blaze and put it on his arm. The chaos slithered across him and onto the stick like a snake. Before it could jump on me I threw it on the ground and crushed it. The chaos, having nowhere to go, simply dispersed. Blaze got onto his knees and panted. It looked like neither of us could fight.
With Ethan and Seth ganging up on Sapphire, it looked like all was lost.
Then, all of a sudden Jasmine exploded out of the lake. She seemed to float there for a moment before landing on the ground, like an angel. She was holding a staff, but it was nothing like Sapphire's.
It was the size of a walking cane, being different shades of blue and made out of a strange metal. At the top of the staff were four light blue crystals pointing to an azure orb. It looked like something a wizard from stories would wield.
She pointed it at Ethan and Seth and they became encased in ice. She then shot a torrent of water at them, which was more powerful than she had ever summoned before. It blasted them, cracking the ice and shot them forward. A jagged ice pillar appeared in front of them and as Ethan twisted his body to avoid it, a jet of water smashed him into the ground. Meanwhile Seth enhanced his fist and tried to smash it, but the ice was hard and his hand made a cracking sound. He screamed and fell to the ground nursing his wounded hand. Jasmine snapped her fingers and the ice broke into thousands of shards and the "ice needles" were sent flying towards Seth. He tried dodging but they tore into any piece of skin that was showing.
Ethan leaped at her, but she thrust her hand out and a beam of ice shot towards him. He fell back down and saw that his torso was frozen.
"There. He's frozen let's take him back to Tom and see what we can do." Jasmine said.
However as she reached towards him, a bone wall appeared around Seth and he, then crumbled revealing that they were gone.
"What the..." The water Elementalist muttered.
I slammed my fist on the ground and shouted at the sky. Once again, Seth escaped. But this time, he took my friend.
