Where was I? The last thing I remember was Death dragging us underground.
Groaning, I stood up and looked around for Blaze, Tom or Jasmine, and my eyes fell on the unconscious body of the fiery Elementalist.
"Blaze!" I exclaimed and rushed over to him. With a shake of his body, he jolted up and lit his hand on fire, before extinguishing it seeing that it was me.
"Dark? What happened? Where are we?" The boy asked me, confused as I was.
"I can answer the first part. Sapphire was working with Death, it seems. She pushed us into the Land of the Dead, and, well Death put us here I guess."
Blaze looked down, then back up at me. Sighing, he stood up and looked me in the eyes, "I can't believe she betrayed us. She was always so quiet, but powerful all the same. Even after we all traveled together too. Damn it, we should have seen it coming."
I put a hand on his shoulder, "We couldn't have known. There was no way to prepare for it. I think that right now we should try to find Tom and Jasmine."
"Right."
We saw that we were in some kind of bone cell, fitting for the person who trapped us. Without our weapons, Blaze had to rely on his powers, and I on my fists. He shot flames and used pillars of rock to break through, and I could only kick at the bones. It took a while, but eventually we made a crack, just big enough for us to crawl through. Luckily, Death didn't have the power to take away our powers. That was easy enough, now just to find the others.
We ran through Death's giant fortress, getting lost in the maze of hallways. It was dark, but luckily for Blaze the stone walls were lit with candles. Even in here, it smelled like rotting corpses. We found dozens of different doors, but none led to the others.
"Dark, in here." Blaze called, going through another black door.
I stepped through after him, wondering what he had found. In front of me Blaze smiled, holding our swords. Maybe luck was on our side.
I equipped my weapons, with my friend doing the same. As soon as we stepped out of the room, standing in front of us were something I could only call zombies. They wore ragged clothing and had large chunks of flesh missing or hanging off of them.
One lunged out at us, baring it's rotten and cracked teeth, but was immediately engulfed in flames. The others were quickly met with the same fate and were turned to ash. If Death wanted to stop us, he'd have to try harder.
"Nice one." I told Blaze and he smirked.
We heard footsteps from around the corner and braced ourselves for the worst, but were relieved when we saw Tom and Jasmine.
"Thank God you're alright!" The girl exclaimed as she wrapped her arms around us.
"Heh. Yeah, we're fine," I laughed. "How'd you find us?"
"Tom did. He said that he could sense you because you're Elementalists."
"Oh, I see," Then a thought struck me. "Do you... do you think you could sense Ethan?"
Tom seemed to think about this, before shaking his head, "Sorry Dark, no. I can only sense Elementalists because of the immense power you give off... However, I could probably sense Seth. Give me a moment," he closed his eyes and focused. A few moments passed before he looked at us again. He turned and pointed to the wall beside us, "Through there. I can feel that Seth is through there. And if he's there, I'd be willing to bet that Ethan's with him."
"Leave this to me everyone." Blaze smirked.
He smashed through the wall with a jagged stone pillar, sending dark bricks scattered across the ground. We saw Seth, Ethan (now in his armor) and Sapphire sitting at a table, looking to be eating.
