Up and Down

A chase

Chases POV
I'm still running after Ivy because I need to know what's going on. She jumps into a random paddock and still not slowing down, but she tiring, she stops for a second and I speed up, she goes to keep running but I thrust one arm around her waist and pull her to the ground, pinning her underneath me, I watch her struggle to escape
"Let me out I need to be alone"
"Tell me what's going on first"
"No, I can only tell my bestist friends"
"Ok then, your gonna be waiting a long time to escape"
"Please Chase you gotta understand, I have places to be"
"I'll go with you" since I never asked her out time, I've been trying to act normal so she doesn't suspect me to the one putting love notes in her locker at school
"Fine but, I'm not telling you anything" I slowly climb off her, holding her hand in case she try's to run off
"Why?"
"Why what?"
"Why won't you tell me"
"Because you won't understand and you'll probably tell other people who will use my secret against me"
"But I promise, I promise I won't"
"But you might betray me"
"But I won't, why are you scared of betrayal anyway"
"That's a part of my secret" she takes a deep breath in
"If you wanna know what happened, come with me" I try to hide my excitement, but I fail and she glares at me
"Ok where are we going?"
"My secret place".
Ivy's POV
I can't believe I'm going to tell Chase what happened, he hasn't let go of my hand probably to make sure I don't run off again, but I had a good reason to, I need to tell mum about dad escaping from jail, she's the only one that will really understand how I feel. When we arrive at the barn I take around the back where there's a small pond with willow trees hanging over and the soil is covered by a soft layer of moss, this was mums favorite place in the world, I lead Chase over to a stone bench that's sat next to the pond. I smile at Chase who can't stop admiring everything, slowly he drags his eyes away to look at me, hopefully he forgot about me telling him, that was my plan all along, he narrows his eyes at me and I smile nervously
"I see your evil plan, trying to distract me, so you don't have to tell me what's been going on"
"Damn it" I mutter under my breath, he smirks
"So come on spit it out"
"Ok, once upon a time there lived a 4 year old, she lived a very happy life with her caring mother and father, well she thought her father was caring until one night he came back really angry and the little girl not knowing he was angry hugged him and the father slapped the little girl really hard across the face, he went to hurt the little girl again, but the mother interfered" there's tears running down my cheeks "and that made the father even angrier and he started kicking and punching her, the little girl ran out of the house her dad soon following, she ran all the way down to the police station and the police took her dad to jail. The little girl was soon told that her mother had died and her grandma would move down and take care of that little girl. But a few years later when the girl was older she had been told her father had escaped jail"
Chase frowns
"Nice story, but what does it have to do with your secret?"
"Ivy was that little girl" Chase and I turn around and see a man standing behind us
"Who are you and how do you know my name" I ask in a firm voice
"Oh you don't remember me" I look at him closer and realize who it is
"Stay away from us, you shouldn't be here" I step in front of Chase
"That's not a nice thing to say to your father" I hear Chase gasp
"There is nothing nice to say to you" I growl
"Well I'm fine with that"
"What do you want?"
"I want revenge, you are the reason I was in jail"
"And you are the reason my mother is dead"
"Oh yes, your mother, stupid women interfered"
"What are you gonna do?"
"You mean what have I done"
"What did you do" he smirks
"I visited your grandma"
"No"I gasp
"Yes and it's your turn" he leaps forward.

                   Chases POV
I pull Ivy out of the way just in time, I never thought her secret would be so sad
"What do we do now?" I whisper in her ear
"We do what I do best, run!" We get up and run as fast as we can
"I'LL GET YOU IVY!" Her dad screams from the pond
"I'm sorry Ivy"
"Why are you sorry?"
"For pushing you to tell me"
"All g but we gotta get to mine to make sure grandmas at hospital not still there"
"What if your dad killed her?"
"I don't know"
"Where will you go?"
"Probably to Charlie's"
"Don't you know any more family?"
"I know my uncle owns the barn, but he lives in Singapore"
"Oh".
