17. Engagement Party

Kylie's POV

I know mom doesn't think I'm fully behind her decision to marry Deeks and honestly if I were her I wouldn't either. Although he and I get along great now we didn't exactly have the best start and my mom knows me well enough to know that it takes longer than a few months for me to be able to trust someone, so I decided to do something nice for them both

They got engaged yesterday and today I arranged an engagement party in our back yard while their out getting the final few things needed for the baby. With a little assistance for wyatt we decorated the back yard red and white which are considered romantic colors and I had just iced the red velvet cake and cupcakes I made for tonight.

Wyatt: so when will your parents be home?

"My mom and Deeks will be here around four, their friends are arriving around three so we can be prepared for the surprise" I told him as we began cleaning the mess I made in the kitchen

Wyatt: I can't believe you cooked all of this food, everything looks absolutely amazing

"It was actually really simple dishes, the desert took more time than the actual meal, but everything turned out pretty great" I stated. Wyatt went home to change for the party and I went up to my room where I changed into a my red and white dance outfit. I had planned on having my group perform tonight. It would be my first performance since the shooting, but I hadn't planned on dancing. They were in for a treat tonight.

I called to ensure mom and Deeks were still bust before having the girls over for one final practice that went exceptionally well. They assisted me in preparing the tabe. We got done just as mom's team started arriving in along with miss deeks and grandma Julia. I got a little surprise of my own when kara and her parents arrived

Kara: where's my best friend at?

"Kara bear" I yelled nearly tackling her with a hug "you have no idea just how much I missed you" I told her

Kara: I missed you more. There's so much I want to tell you, but we'll do that later

"Alright mini Kate Beckett" I teased as we headed out back together

Nell: wow! You really went all out tonight. Their going to love this

"I hope so, I haven't been the most supportive of their relationship at the start, but having deeks around hasn't been as horrid as thought" I explained just as I heard their car pull into the driveway. Just as they came in mom called out to me

"I'm in the back yard, could you and deeks come and give me a hand with something?" I shouted back and they both came out back where they were in awe of their surprise

Kensi: this is so beautiful, ky you did all of this for us?

"I had a little help decorating but yeah, I know I haven't been the most supportive person of this thing you have with deeks, but I no longer think of him as a blonde idiot, he's pretty cool and this is my way of showing you both that I'm on team densi" I told them

Deeks: team densi?

"Your couple name, your friends came up with that one which I thought was cute. So what do you think? I asked

Deeks: I think your the best kid ever. This is all really great and thoughtful. Thank you

"Its about time I did something nice for you guys. For dinner I made a classic cheese lasagna with a salad side, but of you don't want that I also made a few cheddar stuffed burgers with picked slaw, fried shallots and kyle bailey

Kylie: I've been dying for a burger, but what is this? What kid of cakes are those?

"I made you a ferrero rocher truffle cake special because you've been asking for chocolate truffles all week and I made a red velvet cake for everyone else along with chocolate chip muffins and cookies

Julia: you made all of this on your own? I thought you hired a catering company

"I taught myself how to cook online, there was no point asking mom. She has no place in a kitchen" I stated and we all shared a laugh

Kensi: hey! I can cook stuff, I just don't.

Kara: Is anyone else wondering who this random girl is beside wyatt or is it just me?

Wyatt: you kept that in for an entire five minutes. I'm proud of you, this my friend Layla

Kara: yeah but why is she here?

"She means that in the nicest way. Layla just moved here and wanted to make some new friends. He's being nice" I explained

The night pretty much consisted of mom and her team just enjoying the night. Everyone enjoyed the show that my dancers put on "mom is everything okay" I asked after noticing her heavy breathing

Kensi: I'm fine baby, don't worry about me

Deeks: is she okay, fern it doesn't look like your okay

Kensi: I'm fine, but my water broke

Deeks: what? Okay don't panic, I'll get your bag and the car. We need to call the doctor

Kensi: Deeks calm down, everything's going to be okay. They don't really do much if the contractions aren't five minutes apart or less, we have time

Deeks: okay, but your okay

Kensi: I'm fine, I feel fine. I'm going to cha he my pants and we can head out. Kylie call Dr. Walker and deeks get my bag and the baby's bag and make sure the car seat

Layla: oh and kylie you should probably out of your maids outfit

Kara: Kayla if looks could kill I'm positive you'd be a goner. She defi itely tried it

Layla: she's been cooking and serving I just figured she was dressed as the help, and again my name's Layla

Nell: she looks absolutely adorable, there's nothing wrong with your outfit kylie

"I know, but thank you aunt Nell. I have a doctor to call, I'll be right back" I told them, after making the call to doctor walker I helped deeks secure the car seat in the car then went up to help mom get changed

Kensi: thanks baby

"Are you sure tour good mom, you don't look like your alright?" I questioned

Kensi: I'm fine sweetheart

I helped her downstairs and we headed out and into the car together, granger agreed to stay behind and make sure the house was secured while we all headed down to the hospital together. It was finally happening. I'm about to be a big sister
