{ Tyler's POV }Four days without Josh felt like a lifetime and I feel as though I have become overly attached to him.
What I got Josh was expensive, I hope he likes it. I just hope he doesn't find it weird or dumb.
He assured me that he would like whatever I got him, but who knows? He could just be saying that to spare my feelings. Either way, I get to see him later tonight when we exchange presents. I just have to sneak out of the party.
"Tyler, Cameron and Alex are here," My mom said, watching as I smoothed out my red, black and white striped sweater. It's required to wear a sweater to the party, I just hope I can change before going to the roof.
I nodded, sighing when she waited for me to leave and follow. My father didn't tell her about me getting arrested, however she has been on my heels all break since she assumes I would leave, which I will tonight.
When I got to the party downstairs, I saw people drinking apple cider and a small buffet of vanilla butter cake, and pumpkin pie along with some cookies and a gingerbread house that I didn't get to make, but a professional chef did.
I spotted Cameron and Alex in the corner like usual, eating and chatting a bit with their ugly sweaters as well, but also Christmas hats on.
I chuckled, walking over and noticed my mom keeping an eye on me.
This will be harder than I thought.
She most likely won't let me out of her sight and I will end up not being able to go to the roof.
Josh might think I stood him up, he will be so mad and might dump me.
"Tyler, are you alright?" Cameron questioned with a raised eyebrow. "You look like you're about to throw up."
I shook my head, pleading, "I need your help. I'm meeting my boyfriend tonight, but my mom will not stop watching me. Could you distract her or something? Please..."
"Sure," Cameron smirked, handing Alex his plate and gave him a kiss on the cheek, then saying, "Babe, once I have everyone's attention, sneak him out the bathroom when I give you the signal."
Before we could question what the signal was, Cameron was rushing to the stereo system and went through our electronic devices, finding an old microphone from when my mom wanted me to try singing and hooked it up, then plugged in his phone, and starting singing.
Suddenly, he gave us a wink and we took that as the sign once his parents started yelling at him and the adults were shouting. I felt extremely bad, however Cameron didn't seem to mind at all and Alex just led me to the bathroom.
I had my bag under the sink cause we decided we would sleep there tonight. Also, I knew I would sneak out this way and he locked the door, opening the window for me as I put the bag on my shoulder and tugged on the jacket I basically stole from Josh.
Alex asked curiously,"Is he picking you up?"
"No, I am meeting him there. Don't worry, it is not too far," I promised seeing his concerned expression.
He smiled and I thanked him again, climbing out of the window much like I did the first time I met Josh.
A smile grew on my face, remembering how I first thought he was going to hurt me when all he did was help. He was sweet the first time I met him and since then, he only grew nicer and more caring.
Much to my relief, everyone was indoors and I did not run into any problems when going to the roof, though my back was growing painful when walking to the building.
