"sign here too," katie says underneath her breath, cowering over selena while she signed the contracts.
her phone beeps.
she lost all focus on the papers and went to dive for her phone, hoping it was justin. katie snatches it before selena had a grip on her phone. "selena," she says sternly. "focus; turn to the next page and sign where the pink sticky-notes are." katie left selena's side with her phone. selena turns to the next page like instructed, but didn't take notice of the pink sticky-notes: she was too busy watching katie, seeing where she was taking her phone. katie places the phone in front of herself on the table, sitting down opposite selena, and begins reading through paperwork.
sighing, selena starts signing the places instructed.
