Chapter 6

~Today~

Julian

- What are you doing here ?
Vanessa asked looking firstly at me and then at Lila.
- I....
- I felt dizzy and mr. Draxler helped me.
Lila explained and I remember that it was about time to take my hands from her face.
Vanessa was looking at both of us with disbelief.
- Hope you feel better now.
She said giving the death stare at Lila.
- Yes, thank you. And thank you mr. Draxler.
She said and she looked me in the eyes. I nodded because I was afraid that I would tell something that would make Vanessa furious.
- Maybe you want someone to drive you home. It doesn't seem like you can go on your own.
I said because I wanted to spend some time with her and because I wanted her to answer to my question. She didn't answer if she remembered me although I knew she did.
Vanessa was now furious.
- Julian...
She said rolling her eyes.
But I ignored her. I looked at Lila. She had turn red.
- Thank you Julian....I mean mr. Draxler but I'm fine.
She said looking nervously at Vanessa.
I nodded looking down and Lila took her bag and left the hotel. I hope she works again in the morning.
Vanessa rolled her eyes and headed to our room. I followed her but before I looked at the door where Lila excited previously. I couldn't stop thinking about her. Why the fuck is she assistant in a hotel ? Her parents were rich she should work somewhere way better than being a receptionist.
I headed to the room Vanessa was laying in our bed again looking at the ceiling.
- I understood that she was trying to flirt since we came here when you headed to the reception.
Vanessa said playing impatiently with her hair.
I looked down. Vanessa was way jealous but I know that tonight's wasn't Lila's fault.
- She felt dizzy Vanessa.
I explained.
- Who are you trying to fool Julian ? I know these kind of girls. She recognized you since you arrived there and she tried to flirt you. She's interested in your money most probably.
Vanessa said looking angrily at me.
- You're exaggerating. I'm tired and she left. We can talk about it tomorrow if you want.
- I really don't know what's wrong with you lately Julian. Be careful with her.
She said falling asleep. I looked at the ceiling.....
I can't believe that I saw Lila after so many years. I'm thinking of her every single day. I want to learn things about her, how she's now, about her family, about her life now. Who knows maybe she has a boyfriend. I wish she didn't.
Stop acting stupid Julian. You broke up a long time ago. You have a girlfriend. It's more than possible that she has a boyfriend.
I thought to myself.
But I reallty wish she hadn't. Although nothing could change.
And by these thoughts I fall asleep.

This morning was our last training before the match with Bayern.
And my last training before getting engaged. Vanessa was extremelly happy today and it seemed like she had forgotten what happened last night. Lila wasn't working this morning but I knew I could see her again. And I couldn't wait.
When I came back from training she was at the reception working and also talking with someone. I thought that this guy was familiar although I couldn't see his face. Lila was way too friendly with him. And because I knew that he wasn't her brother -since she didn't have any- I felt kind of jealous. Maybe he was her boyfriend. I looked around me and when I realized there was neither Vanessa nor Kim anywhere near I headed to the reception. I decided to talk to her cause that was what I wanted to do. She noticed me immediately and she stopped talking with the guy which by the way I recognized. It was Thomas.
- Hello Julian.
Thomas said smiling.
- Hello Thomas.
I said but I couldn't take my eyes from Lila. I bet she noticed it cause she looked away immediately.
- You're staying here ?
Thomas asked and I nodded.
- Only you ?
He repeated.
- It's kind of complicated.
I explained pointing at Lila.
- Don't worry about her. Lila is a friend. She won't say anything.
Thomas said and he winked at her which made me even more jealous.
- A friend ?
I asked wanting to learn more forgetting what Thomas previously asked me.
- Yes, a girl...friend.
Thomas said looking at her eyes and so did Lila. They were staring at each other's eyes as if they were in love. I wanted to hit Thomas.
- So what are you doing here ?
I asked him trying to take his attention away from Lila.
- I came to see her and ask her to come at the match tonight but she can't. She works.
Thomas explained pointing at Lila.
Lila was staring down at her computer most probably to avoid my eyes.
- But I'll come to pick you up when you finish we can spend the night together.
Thomas said winking at her again making me roll my eyes and when Lila noticed it she played with her hair quite nervously.
- Sure. See you then.
She said and Thomas touched her hand in a good bye. I looked him exciting from the lobby and my attention came back to Lila.
- Is he your boyfriend ?
I asked Lila immediately.
- Boyfriend ? No way.
She responded smirking.
- But you'll spend the night with someone that's not your boyfriend ?
I asked pretty jealous.
She blushed.
- Well, that's none of your bussiness mr. Draxler.
She responded looking at me.
- Mr. Draxler ? You like to play as I remember you did Lila.
I said and she bit her bottom lip.
- What's your girlfriend going to think when she sees you here again ?
She asked making me look at her again.
- It's none of your bussiness besides Vanessa is just a girlfriend. She can't control my life.
- You're getting engaged tonight as I remember.
- You know it ?
I asked surprised.
- Everybody knows it here mr. Draxler.
She said sarcastically.
- And you don't care ?
I think my words caught her by surprise because she looked at me shocked.
- What do you mean ?
- Nothing. I'm sorry for that.
I said and I turned to leave. She didn't want to admit that she knew me and I couldn't force her. Besides, she was right. I was getting engaged tonight and I was happy with that. At least kind of.
- Julian wait...
Lila said to my surprise. I looked at her as if she was crazy.
- Of course I remember you.
She said looking down and bitting her bottom lip.
I smiled. I knew it. There was no need to admit it. I turned to leave again. I don't know why her words made me that happy.

- Okay let's go guys. This is an important match.
Our coach said and I closed my eyes thinking that she was in the stands cheering for Wolfsburg. Cheering for me. And then I would score and dedicate the goal to her and then kiss her and....
- Focus Julian.
Sebastian said interrupting my thoughts.
- Yes. I'm fine.
I said. I greeted every single player of Bayern. And Thomas. I didn't feel very well tonight.

The referee ended the match. We lost. And we didn't just lost. 5-0 was more than losing. Bayern fans were cheering all over the stadium and I couldn't feel worse. Everything was so fucked up.
I headed to the changing rooms feeling useless. How the fuck did this happen ?
- They are good.
Ricardo said and I saw his dissappointment all over his face.
They were....

- Nice game.
Thomas said to me and although I though it was sarcastic he was just congratulating.
- Thanks. You played good.
He smiled.
- Kind of.
He said pointing at Robert who scored all their goals tonight.
- What are you doing now ?
I asked hoping that his plan with Lila was just a plan.
- Didn't you hear previously ? I'll take the lady out.
He said smiling like an idiot.
- Good.
I said nodding.
Although that wasn't really good.
