The next day, I woke up with the feeling of a hole of my heart. It's starting. I knew the feeling would only worsen to the point of almost death, and then slowly, very slowly, get better. Wolves have killed themselves, just to end the damn near endless pain.

I knew I had to figure things out with Ruby. No way I was going through the pain of rejection, which would only hurt me.

I went to the office bright and early and Morgan was there, along with Alpha Frank.

"We need to talk," Morgan said.

"Yeah," I responded, a little uneasy.

Frank spoke up, "I'm sorry. It wasn't supposed to end up this way."

"Yeah. You're telling me," I retorted.

"Spencer, watch yourself," Morgan warned, "We need to discuss."

I sighed, "I will accept her, if she will accept me."

"I will accept you," a voice said. Ruby stepped into the room, "I thought over everything yesterday. I may be slightly unsure of the moon goddess's plan, but I trust her enough to follow her guide."

"You mean that?" My voice cracked slightly.

"Yes," she confirmed.

The hole feeling in my heart was filled by overwhelming happiness. I walked towards her, as she moved towards me. I hugged her tightly, feeling her head on my collarbone, as she was almost six inches shorter than me.

"Well that was resolved quickly," Morgan remarked.

"Yeah," Frank agreed, "I was expecting WAY more tears."

"Shut up," Ruby said, once we removed ourselves, still holding hands.

"The only question is what now?" Morgan asked.

"New Moon needs a Luna. Until Frank finds his mate, that's my responsibility," Ruby stated.

"It will be a little hard on my Mom, but I can leave. Max has a few months left, before he re-enlists. Alec can help out. Morgan, what is your plan for Beta?" I asked, going over everything.

"I am probably going to ask Max to fill in, until I make a permanent decision. Is there any hope of convincing him not to re-enlist?" He asked, already knowing the answer.

"Absolutely not," I confirmed.

"Shit," Morgan swore, "Alright. We will miss you, Spence."

"I will visit and I won't be that far away. New Moon is our neighbor," I reassured.

"We will leave, tomorrow, if that's alright," Frank said.

"Okay," I nodded, "I'll go talk to my family, unless you need me," I forced a smile.

"Go. Meet me this evening," He said, little sadly.

"Yes, sir," I responded, then left.

I needed to run. I shifted and my wolf stretched her neck and took off.

About an hour later, I shifted back, and re-dressed myself. I walked into my house and everyone was there. It was a Saturday, so there was no school and my Mom didn't have to work.

"Yo, everyone to the kitchen," I hollered.

Jack ran in, followed by Max, then Mom, and finally Alec.

"What's up, Spence?" Alec asked, boredly.

"I found my mate," That proclamation was met with cheers and high fives.

"And I'm moving in with her. In a different territory," I broke the news.

"NO!" Jack yelled, "I won't let them take you."

"Jack," I tried to pry the ten year old off my waist, "I will be able to visit you guys, and you can visit sometimes, too."

Alec hugged me, too, "No way. I don't permit it. You are NOT leaving me."

"Alec.." I tried helplessly.

Mom hugged me and said, "I'll miss you sweetie."

Max hugged me and my entire family together and we stood there for a while.

We disengaged our limbs. I felt the tears well up. "I love you, guys. I will come back to visit as often as I can," I promised.

"When do you leave?" Mom asked.

"Tomorrow. I'm meeting with Morgan after dinner," I told her.

"Okay. Go pack now. Don't save it for the last minute. Remember what happened last time?" She instructed me.

"Okay, okay."

"What happened last time?" Max asked.

"When we going for your graduation, I packed at the last possible second and I didn't pack any um," I blushed, stuttering, "T-t-t-tamp-p-pons. I made Mom go buy me some. She made me pay her back and then some."

Everyone, but Jack, was laughing their heads off.

"What are 'tampons?'" The ten year old asked.

That got everyone laughing harder. I went up to my room and packed all my clothes and a few things, like pictures and toiletries. I stared at the picture of Dad on my dresser. "He would be proud of you," Mom entered my room.

"What?" I asked, confused.

"Your father would have been proud of you," She continued, "You took on the position of Beta at sixteen, almost seventeen. You help me provide for and take care of your younger siblings when I had to take on more shifts at the office. And you are doing the harder thing, for the good of everyone else. Your father would be so proud."

"Do you think he is watching over us?" I inquired.

"Honey, I know he is," Mom responded and hugged me.

"I'm going to miss you, Mom"

"I'll miss you, too, Sweetie. Go meet with Morgan and then get some sleep," My mother instructed.

I departed for Morgan and I's secret hide-out that we've had since we were kids.

"Hey," I greeted, once I arrived.

"Hey, Spence."

"Can't believe I'm actually leaving."

"Neither can I."

"Seems like yesterday I was telling you to stop cheating at play fights."

"Yeah. Then we became best friends."

"And you made me your Beta"

"Then I convinced you not kill Max for running away."

"Yeah."

"Those were the days."

We sat in silence, reliving our years of friendship. "I'm going to miss you," He confessed.

"Same," I agreed.

"You will write and visit. That's an order," Morgan commanded.

"Yes, sir," I promised.

"Go get some sleep. Tomorrow will be a big day for you."

"See you tomorrow."

"Goodbye," He said, choking up a bit.

"Remember, this is goodnight, and never goodbye," I vowed.

"Never goodbye," He said, a lone tear slipped down his cheek.

I pulled him into a tight hug and left to face my new future.

This chapter had me almost in tears.  There are some hidden things that won't get you guys, but that kill me.
