Saving Me, From Me (Bucky Barnes)

Chapter 16

Maddie's POV

3  Months Later

I was loving it in Queens. I'm still staying in a hotel room, but I have enough money to afford it and all the necessities. I was currently in my Shadow uniform, and had changed my hair and eye colour to red (as my energy is red, my energy manipulation allows this to happen). I was flying over the city when I saw a robbery taking place, lowered myself and stopped them. Then the police turned up and took them in. "Oh, you got here before me." I heard behind me. "Yeah Spidey. You're a bit late." I said and walked up to him. "Yeah, I was caught up with something else." He said gesturing to a cut on his chest. "Oh God. Ok.Come back to my place and I can fix you up before you-know-who finds out." I said and with that I flew us to my hotel window and into the room. Yes ok. Peter and I know who each other are but it was only because I had seen him at the Avengers tower and I read his mind and found out. I told him I knew who he was and he made me tell him. But that was when I was an Avenger. Now Peter and I help out Queens as our own little duo. "Hey, Maddie. Tony asked if I knew if you lived in Queens. He heard the Shadow was helping Spiderman." He said as I patched him up before he left and his aunt saw. "Please tell me you didn't say I did." I said as I gave him the clothes in his bag that he must have left here last time. "Don't worry I didn't but I think Wanda read my mind. And he said that Bucky has been doing loads of missions to get his mind off of you." He said and went to the bathroom to change. "Yeah well this is his fault. He shouldn't have told them." I shouted through the door. Peter saw the scars so I had to tell him but he has become something like my little brother these past few months.

Peter had left and I was in the bathroom, staring at the mirror I changed my hair back to dirty blonde and my eyes back to their natural bluey-green, then looked at my scars. I had started again once i left so you could see some clearly. Peter didn't know that, he had thought I had stopped. But I can't be saved from myself. I looked at them and then thought of the Avengers and if they knew I was still doing this, they would want me to get better. So I decided I would. I flushed the blades and packed everything into bags. I think I have given it enough time. As much as I love Queens, hearing that Bucky was overworking made me want to go back.I text Pete telling him to meet me the train station tomorrow. And with that in mind I fell into a deep sleep.

I woke up and got all of my bags. I got the key out of my bag and locked the door, then handed it to the person at the front desk saying I was leaving she thanked me for my stay. And with that I walked to the train station. When I got there, I saw Peter standing there.  "Maddie, are you leaving?" He said and i nodded. "I think it's time I go back. Anyway, I'm starting to miss them. But don't worry, we'll still see each other when you come to be Tony's lab partner." I said and hugged him. "I know. Its just you have grown into a big sister over the past 3 months." He said letting me go. "Well, I'll still be there whenever you need me. Just know. I'm always a phone call away." And with that I went to get a ticket. I got my ticket and got on the train to take me back to the people I had been trying to avoid for the past 3 months.

I got off the train and got a taxi to the Avengers tower. And that was where I was now. Stood outside the tower trying to build up the courage to go in.
