Chapter 23

Maddie's POV

"Maddie, did Lucas hurt you?" He asked. "No. He just. Why does everyone I love leave me?" I asked with sobs still making my body shake. "M, we all love you and we haven't left." He said. "Buck, that's not what I mean. All my boyfriends leave. Or do something to make me leave." I said talking more about Jack but I guess Bucky too. "Why is he leaving?" He asked trying to get off of the topic. "He's going back to the X-Men. Buck I was so close to going with him but then the pain from loosing my parents because of they were X-Men returned. And it made me remember why I wanted to leave there and how I meet Jack. And brought even more pain." I said as the tears stained my cheeks and the wind blow making me shiver. "Maddie, please don't do what I think you're going to do." He said and pulled me into his lap to keep me warm.

Nat's POV

"See. Look at them." I said as I saw Maddie and Bucky sat cuddling on the bench. "Who are you talking about?" Tony asked. "Them." I said pointing to Maddie and Buck outside. "Do you think they got back together?" Sam asked. "No. Maddie is dating Lucas. Remember." Wanda said. "Well, they won't last long . Maddie and Buck are in love with each other. We can all see it. So why can't they?" Clint said. "Maddie really likes Lucas. So I don't think Buck has a chance. He'll just have to get over her." I said and everyone agreed apart from Steve. "No. He won't get over her. I know Buck, when he likes a girl this much he won't let her slip away." He said. "I think I lost her when he told us all her secret." I said and we moved on but I kept looking out at them wishing that Maddie would break up with Lucas and sat Bucky.

Maddie's POV

I got off of Buck's lap and walked over to the railing. "Don't worry Buck I won't. You stopped me from doing that.But I thought he was the one." I said and wrapped my arms around my body. "How did you think he was the one. You were with him for what. 4 months?" He said and stood next to me. "No Buck. The one that could help me get over me." I said and walked to my room. Ignoring the shouts from the rest of my team mates. Once I was in my room I jumped on my bed and let the tears fall out my eyes and into my pillow. After 30 minutes I fell into a deep sleep just ignoring the world around me.
