Chapter 18

Kanan and Ezra were training at a secure rebel location and training. Kanan wanted to see if Ezra can harness the new ability he made. Ever since Ezra blocked the lightsaber from the sister with the force Kanan wanted to see if he could do it again.

"Ready?" Kanan asked and Ezra readied himself. The used a big crate as a dummy and Kanan raised his lightsaber at it. Ezra would try to use the force to block Kanan's lightsaber from scratching the crate but Ezra couldn't.

Kanan went to strike and Ezra couldn't do it again. Ezra groaned and Kanan tucked his lightsaber away. "Let's do this later." Kanan said and Ezra faced him. "I need to train this, if anything happened to you or everyone cause I couldn't do this.." Ezra trailed off.

Kanan walked up to him and hugged his boy. "You will get-" Kanan was cut off when an explosion went off near where the Ghost was. "Let's go!" Kanan yelled and Ezra followed after him.

They weren't far off and when they made it, there was the sister and brother ordering troops to attack. Sabine and Hera were shooting at troopers from a building and Zeb was beating up his oppents. Chopper must be in the ship working on getting out of here.

Kanan buzzed his lightsaber and Ezra followed after him. They fought the stromtroopers and Ezra blasted one trying to get to the ship. "Chop! Fire the cannons in the middle!" Kanan shouted in his comm and deflected a shot back at a buckethead.

Ezra force pushed a trooper and sensed Chopper getting ready. "Take cover!" Ezra shouted in the comm and shoved it away and took Kanans hand and hid behind a broken home.

Chopper blasted in the middle where the troopers were and when Ezra sensed it was gone, he looked up. "Huh, do that more often." Ezra told Kanan and they met up with everyone near the ship until Kanan sensed danger.

"Duck!" Kanan shouted and everyone did and a red lightsaber spun over them. Ezra got up and saw the sister smirk at them. "Everyone get on the ship. Me and Kanan got this." Ezra said and slowly everyone did.

"Rematch for last time." The sister said and stalked to Ezra who was watching her and Kanan engaged a battle with the brother. Ezra made the first move and the sister attacked with stealth. Ezra waited for her when she ducked in the shadows.

Ezra sensed something and turned around to block the blow the sister almost made. "You are going to die." She said and Ezra groaned. "You gotta stop repeating yourself." Ezra said and she quickly backed off. Ezra and her circled each other but instead of using her lightsaber, she jumped to Ezra and used her hands to fight.

She punched Ezra in the face and kicked him in the stomach. Ezra stumbled back and dodged her next hit. She attacked but used the force to hit Ezra on the side of his face with a brick.

Ezra cried in pain and his eyesight got dizzy. The sister lifted hand and made half a building fall on him. Ezra crawled away as fast as he could but his legs to his stomach were buried and a pole was on top of his chest and was crushing his left arm but his right arm was free but had a huge gash.

The sister left him and focused on Kanan. Ezra's vision was still moving things and shaking. Kanan saw Ezra trapped and growled at the sister and then he fought the brother and sister.

Ezra gasped in pain and saw his lightsaber a few feet in front of him. Ezra saw Kanan fight hard but he needed help. Ezra reached his hamd out and focused on the force hard with the headache he was battling. "Kanan catch!" Ezra yelled and Kanan faced him then the lightsaber floated up and was thrown to Kanan from Ezra.

Kanan caught it and activated it then faced the brother and sister. Ezra tried moving but a beam was moving and threatened to crush Ezra. Kanan was fighting but a robot was floating near the sister and tried to shoot Kanan.

Ezra watched the fight and tried moving but couldn't. Kanan sliced the robot and it exploded a small thing and the sister force pushed Kanan to the ground.

Ezra panicked and shouted to Kanan to get up but the brother was about to strike Kanan but he scrambled away. Ezra was watching in despair. The brother knocked Ezras lightsaber from Kanan and the sister was about to land her blow.

"NOOOO!" Ezra yelled and threw his hand out. He used the force and blocked the lightsaber from killing his dad and the sister flew back. Kanan got up and threw the brother back hundreds of feet and the sister was knocked out.

Kanan collected their lightsabers then ran to Ezra. "I'm here, I'm here." Kanan soothed his son and Ezra smiled. Kanan lifted his hands and used the force to lift the debries off from Ezra. "Move!" Kanan shouted and Ezra scrambled back. Kanan dropped everything and grabbed Ezra.

"I got it." Ezra said and Kanan knew what he mean't. He blocked the lightsaber. Kanan quickly ran to the Ghost and saw Sabine. "Help me." Kanan said and Sabine followed Kanan to the med-bay.

The sister woke up and saw the brother crouch in front of her. "They escaped." The brother growled and she stood up with him. "The boy used the force to block my lightsaber. We can't underestimate him again." She said and the brother faced her.

"What do we do?" He asked and she didn't respond. "He used the force like a shield...a lightsaber also." She said and collected her lightsaber. "Don't speak of this. No one finds out." She said fierce and he followed her lead.

It was a week later and Ezra was better but twisted his ankle so he leaned against Kanan. "He used the force?" Ashoka asked stunned. The crew had to meet Sato, Ashoka and Rex about the attack.

"How?" Rex asked and everyone faced Ezra. Kanan sensed his discomfort and tightened his arm around his son. "I just felt protective." Ezra said and shifted into Kanan.

"Protective of what?" Sato asked and Ezra felt everyones stares at him. "Tell us Ezra, you used the force like no other." Ashoka said and Ezra felt pressured.

"Ezra?" Sato asked and Kanan felt anger and tightened his arm more around his son. Hera noticed this and asked, "Why does he have to tell you?" Ashoka faced her and said, "He used the force like a shield, a lightsaber. We must know how he did it."

"Ezra tell us please." Ashoka asked again and Ezra lost it. "I wanted to protect my Dad!" He shouted amd everyone but the crew stared in shock. Ezra buried himself deep into Kanans side.

"I'm sorry." Ashoka said and faced Ezra. Kanan got protective of his child and helped him walk away back to his room.

Ezra was snuggled into Kanans side sleeping and Kanan watched him sleep and ran his hand in his hair. Kanan was proud of his son and joined him in the dreamworld where they played and enjoyed peace.
