Carla took a deep breath as she straightened her hair out in the reflection of her phone. Sticking her head out of the sunroof didn't do much to improve her hairstyle.

A laugh from the man beside her cause her to glance over and glare playfully.

"Silence, Christopher. This requires my full concentration," she told him, her fingers weaving through her hair in order to put them back in order. "I was going for a wind blown hairstyle, and somehow I managed to get it ruined by actual wind."

Chris laughed again. "Regretting sticking your head out of the sunroof?"

Carla smiled, her tongue peeking out slightly from between her teeth and bottom lip. "Never!"

Chris smiled at her again, and looked down at his watch. "We should be there in a few. I'd hurry up with your hair if I were you."

Carla huffed, dropping her hands to her side. "I knew there was a reason I'm an actress and not a hairdresser."

Chris just shook his head, his blue eyes sparkling as smiled. He slowly scooted closer to her, and brushed a strand of hair away from her face, using a clip that had almost fallen out to pin the hair in place.

Chris continued to lightly run his fingers through the edges of Carla's hair, smoothing it out and causing her heart to beat even faster every time he touched her.

His eyes were laced with concentration, and he caught Carla's gaze for a moment, winked, and then went back to fixing Carla's hair.

When Chris had come to pick up Carla in the limo, he had gotten out to come greet her, and when he saw Carla standing on the steps to her house in her dress, he immediately stopped walking and had just gaped at her, wide eyed and open mouthed.

"You...you look amazing," He had complimented, his hands fiddling with the sunglasses in his suit pocket. "All eyes are gonna be on you at the premiere."

Carla blushed a bright red, glancing down at the cracked sidewalk in front of her. "They'll only be watching me because I'm with you. If you think I look amazing, you should just go wander by a mirror and check yourself out."

Chris laughed. It was a great sound, loud and amiable as he grabbed his chest; his signature "left boob grab".

After he had stopped laughing, he bounced up to steps to Carla and offered her his arm. "M'lady, your chariot awaits."

Carla nodded curtly at Chris and linked her arm with his. "Why thank you, good sir."

After that they had stopped at a connivence store and loaded up on snacks, even going to a McDonald's to pick up some fries Mackie had asked for.

A feast then insued. Carla stuffed herself with Oreos and Doritos, making jokes about Chris being a "human Dorito" and him laughing at her lame puns.

Chris and Carla had slowly become more comfortable with each other, sparks beginning to fly between them

Carla couldn't help but let out a small sigh of content thinking about earlier. Chris was so close to her face the small amount of breath she had exhaled just barely caused his hair to move.

Carla was staring so intently at Chris she didn't even notice he wasn't fixing her hair and anymore, and was now staring back at her.

His eyes were so blue. Carla couldn't decide if they were bright like the sky, deep like the ocean, or piercing like ice.

Maybe all three, she thought to herself.

She'd never felt like this towards anyone before. Sure, she and Chris had been awkward when they were alone together at first, but now...things seemed to have changed.

Chris broke the stare for a moment to quickly look at Carla's lips. He slowly started to lean in, and the closer he got, the more Carla felt like she was going to have a heart attack.

It was like a wildfire fire, the feeling in her chest. Fireworks exploded in her brain, and her stomach was filled with lava. When she was with Chris, Carla felt like she was on fire. Like there was a powerful spark that ignited her whole soul, and there was no extinguishing it.

Chris's lips were a mere centimeter away from Carla's when she noticed the limo stop and park. They had arrived at the premiere.

"We're here," Carla said quietly. All the fire in heart dwindled to a low glow.

Chris opened his eyes, his face turning a slight red, and he shook his head, as if trying to rid his head of a thought. He moved away from Carla, and cleared his throat.

"Yeah, so we are."

An abrupt knock on the limo window caused both Chris and Carla to jump and Chris rolled down the tinted window to reveal Jeremy, grinning like an idiot.

"Let's go guys! We're late as it is and we still need to talk to some interviewers!"

Carla nodded, locking her emotions down and putting on her usual happy expression. "We have to make an entrance, Jer. Haven't you ever heard of fashionably late?"

Jeremy nodded. "I have, but I think you two are a bit more "did they stop for quick make out session on the way here" type of late at this point."

Carla blushed, and she noticed Chris do the same. Jeremy raised his eyebrows.

"Wait...did you two...?" He moved his eyebrows up and down in a suggestive way.

Carla gave his shoulder a light shove. "What are you, twelve? Jesus, Renner! Go pick your mind up out of the gutter and let's go!" Carla hurried off, almost tripping over her long dress as she waved her arm to get Chris and Jeremy to follow.

"She looks great," Jeremy commented to Chris as they walked. "Don't you think?"

Chris let out a breath he didn't even realize he was holding as he watched Carla. "She's better than great. She's beautiful."
