a dark room filled with books, and the distinct aroma of coffee.
a dark room filled with books, the distinct aroma of coffee, and a girl.
a girl who is far too tall for her age, and for too playful for her height.
a girl who wears sweaters, skinny jeans, and converse no matter the weather.
a girl like me.
this dark room that's filled with books and smells of coffee is her favorite place to write.
that is, when it's too cold outside to sit beneath the oak tree at the park.
but the room will do.
she writes and writes, her fingers speedily typing on the keyboard of an old tablet she found in her mother's room.
the muffled sound of saxophones and trumpets give her a steady rhythm to bob her head to.
she takes a sip of the warm cup of black sitting beside her.
after a bit of typing, she is in need of more inspiration.
she then looks upon the shelves -containing books she din't even remember buying- and selects one to read.
she skims through the first and last chapters of it, in search of something that inspires her.
she finds it; and smiles gleefully.
she sets the book down beside her, and continues to type in the dark room that's filled with books, the distinct aroma of coffee, a girl like me, and a spark of inspiration.
A sip of something warm. Hiding from the rain. While your pen scratches against the wind. And the fire crackles softly.
Huddled under blankets In the middle of tomorrow. Awaiting sparks of brilliance. But you've forgotten how to write So Carry A stack of dusty books. To a table in the corner. And you flip through every page as if You'll find something extraordinary.
Drink A thousand cups of tea And wish for something beautiful A chocolate scone A dance alone A dance in writing Frosted window after snow. Poems in the park. Singing silent to yourself And a spark of inspiration.
