Dipper"Mabel are you alright?" I asked, after a while of silence.
"Why wouldn't I be?" She asked, eerily.
"You aren't planning revenge are you?" I sighed.
"Maybe, maybe not." She smirked.
"Come on Mabel, you're making your planning face." I told her. "It's obvious."
She sighed. "So what if I am? It's not like you care about that girl anyway."
I felt myself starting to clench my fists. Did I care about her? Or was she just a one time thing? Damnit I was starting to confuse myself. "Right." I mumbled.
"Exactly why you won't care about what I plan." Mabel smiled devilishly. "So don't get in the way. Alright?" She asked.
I ended up nodding but also, somehow regretting it. I didn't like Southeast that much did I? Even if we did end up dating, it would end like all those other relationships I've had. In flames. "Alright." I sighed, I won't get in your way."
"Good Dipper." She patted my head like I was a dog. I hated that. "Now let's get home!"
When we got home, it was about one o'clock. Mabel locked herself in her room telling everyone who bugged her that she would claw out your eyes. I didn't want to bother her, and I still had to think.
I walked into my bedroom, closed the door, and locked it. I sat near the window looking over the town. I wished that I could see the Mystery Shack, but I just saw everything else.
I closed my eyes briefly and though about the things Southeast and I yelled to each other on the bridge and today. I was right. We were just too different. That didn't mean I'd leave her alone. She was also kind of fun to annoy.
The funny thing was, Mabel didn't annoy her. Only I did. I smiled to myself, she was just so easy to annoy. I picked up the second Journal off my desk, and flipped through the pages. Mabel liked to keep the first one in her room, while I got the second one. All we needed was the third one. And Southeast happened to stumble upon it. Which pissed me off. I got super bored and decided to talk to Mabel. I just hoped that she wouldn't claw my eyes out.
I knocked on her door three times. "Mabel?" Knocked on it again three times. "Mabel." And repeated that one more time. "Mabel."
She opened the door and sighed. "Can't you see I'm busy scheming?"
"Uh no because the door is closed." I told her. "And I can't see through the door without using magic."
She frowned at me. "What do you want?"
"I wanted to ask, could I borrow the first Journal?" I asked.
She looked like I asked to borrow her soul and never give it back. "Why?" She asked all skeptically.
"Just for something else to read." I explained.
".......I guess so." She sighed, and grabbed the Journal from her nightstand and handed it to me. "Be careful with it! And don't let either of our great uncles see you with it!"
"Oh please, they're always busy and we've kept it a secret all this time." I rolled my eyes. "I'll be fine."
"Oh I'm not worried about you." She said. "I'm worried about my Journal."
"Whatever Mabel." I sighed and walked out of her room and going into, once again, my room to do what I always did. Read and study. And then repeat. It's the same boring tedious process, but it was all I ever did besides the shows.
And I didn't entirely mind it. It kept me calm. And it kept me inside a lot so I wouldn't have to meet more girls that fall in love with me.
I always tell the girls that I'm no good for them but they say that they don't care. I usually break up with them a day or two later. So they didn't really count as real relationships. I sat on my bed and started to read the first Journal.
I had to get the third Journal. But I didn't know how to. She never let her guard down. I skimmed through the pages of the Journal trying to see if anything interesting caught my eye.
So far, nothing. I heard Mabel's evil laugh from the room next door. Geez what the hell is she planning? And when she laughs like that, I know it's not good. For Southeast at least I'll be fine. I closed the Journal, and put it in my desk next to the second one. "Just gotta somehow get the third one from her." I mumbled, thinking about I might get it. Turns out, Mabel wasn't the only one planning something.
