Tsukki hated everything about this tedious world where whatever the hell was written on your wrist matters. Since, after all, the words written on anyone's wrist proves that they have a soulmate. It annoyed him a lot. Just because all he had nothing on his wrist, doesn't mean he had to be treated differently. Heck, even his parents treat him differently, even though they tried to hide it. The only person that doesn't treat him like an alien was his brother. Before going to sleep and when waking up, Tsukki would look at his wrist to see if anything changed.
But it remained blank.
The blond boy sighed and stared at the ceiling, maybe he wasn't meant to have a soulmate. Well he was aware of the fact that he was a sarcastic asshole, maybe that could be it. But Tsukki wasn't going to change himself for anyone so he would have to deal with loneliness for the rest of his life whether he liked it or not.
Another thing that was on Tsukki's list of things he hate was wasting his time at home, the atmosphere was just extremely suffocating so he walked out of the door and decided to take a walk outside. He had his hoodie on since it was slightly cold today and slipped on his headphones, drowning in the sound of music and once again lost in his labyrinth of thoughts.
Since he didn't have any place in particular he wanted to go, he decided to go to the nearest park since the weather was rarely this nice. When Tsukki arrived, it was surrounding by cherry blossoms. Everything was surprisingly resplendent and peaceful.
Well it was, until he heard noises coming from what sounded like teenage boys like him.
He decided to follow the source of the noise to see what was going on, since they were so loud, they could practically wake the whole city up.
"Honestly Yamaguchi you're so weak and pathetic, why would anyone want to be friends with you?" A teenage boy laughed.
"Yeah, you're scrawny and you're freckles look ridiculous!" Another teenage boy laughed.
Tsukki leaned against the tree. Two teenage boys stood over one teenage boy, probably the one named Yamaguchi, taunting him endlessly. He watched from afar, trying to avoid getting mixed up in their dough of trouble.
"What's wrong? Cat got your tongue?" One of them asked and laughed again.
"What's that dude's problem? The blond one over there," now both of them were looking at Tsukki and, of course, Tsukki noticed.
"Hey come over here! You got a problem huh?! Here to start a fight?!"
Tsukki sighed and walked over to them. He took a good look at all of them before he snickered and said, "Pathetic."
This causes Yamaguchi's eyes to widened as the bully looked at Tsukki, "Huh?! Who you calling pathetic? Judging by your wrists, you got nothing on them. Ha! You have no soulmate! So technically you're the one pathetic here."
Tsukki slowly walked towards them, "but on the other hand, you're teasing this guy just because he's different from any of you or just because he doesn't conform to your norms and values even when in reality, we are free to be whatever we want to be so aren't you two the ones who are pathetic?"
This caught both of them and Yamaguchi by surprised so the bully looked at his friend and said, "This is a waste of time let's leave."
Once the bullies left, Tsukki looked at Yamaguchi who was staring at him with wide eyes.
"Are you okay?" Tsukki asked Yamaguchi.
Yamaguchi nodded in response and stood up, patting off the grass from his clothes.
Both of them stared at each other for a long time before Tsukki broke the silence, "Uh why are you staring at me like that?"
Yamaguchi snapped out of the trance and showed Tsukki his wrist. A thousand emotions flooded throughout his read what was written on his wrist.
"Pathetic."
"Maybe you found the wrong guy," he showed his wrist to Yamaguchi, "nothing is written on it."
Yamaguchi shook his head and took out a piece of paper and pencil from his pocket. He started writing and Tsukki read it.
"I know it's you, you're my soulmate," Yamaguchi wrote and looked at Tsukki.
"How would you know?" Tsukki asked, confused.
Yamaguchi started writing again, "Because there is nothing on your wrist. I'm mute, I can't speak."
Realization hit Tsukki right on the chest, so he had a soulmate all along. He wasn't an outsider! This made Tsukki smiled, "where have you been all my life," Tsukki muttered.
Yamaguchi heard him of course which made him blush. He wrote: "I would ask the same to you."
Tsukki blushed lightly and looked at Yamaguchi, "I haven't introduce myself, I'm Tsukishima Kei."
Yamaguchi smiled widely at him and wrote: "Yamaguchi Tadashi."
This was the start of something extraordinary and both of them knew it was they explored the city together.
