Aph Britain's food is not inedible and he does not set every kitchen he is in on fire.
His cooking is canonly described as "a bit bland compared to other nations."
A "bit bland" does not equal "awful."
And while his cooking is bland he can actually cook really good desserts.
(And yes I know I have in fanfiction described his food as awful but I didn't know this at the time please forgive me.)
