You and Me Always

Chapter seven

The stars, the shine, I've never really took the time to notice them until now. A shooting star goes past the other stars.
"Wow! I never seen one before!" I say.
"Me either." Peeta says.
Me and Peeta lay in the meadow. It's be four days since our last kiss and I'm begging for him to kiss me. We decided since it was a clear night to come out and look at the stars. It's nice under the Willow tree where we sit. It's a warm spring night. I lay on Peeta's chest. I listen to his heart beat, and since I moved this close to him his heart is beating fast. Then I kiss his cheek. This sends his heart really pounding. I move even closer and start kissing his mouth slowly and then he grabs me and pulls me to the other side of him and starts kissing me. We kiss very fast. The sweet energy goes threw me and kiss him harder. I put my hands around his neck. We keep kissing. I never want this to end.
What was I ever thinking with Gale?
Me and Gale never had a future, me and Peeta do, at least I think. He's kissing me like he loves me and I'm doing the same. We're only 18 and marriage is out of the question until we're at least 20. But I would love to be Peeta's girlfriend. I don't know what was wrong with me when I was faking me love for him, he's the one I want. I know this now.
Took you long enough.
My mind is right, it took me way to long to figure this out.
We come up for air then continue.
Man, I love this.
I smile threw the kiss. Then I kiss back again.
This is the longest we've ever kissed before.
We break apart and look into each other's eyes.
"Peeta Mellark, I think I want to be your girlfriend." I say.
"Oh really?"
"Really?"
"Alright then, it's settled."
"Oh really?"
"Yep, Katniss Everdeen you are now my girlfriend." He say proudly.
"It's finally happening!" He says.
"Yep." I respond. I kiss him again.

I awake in my house, my suitcase from Haymitch's house there. I must have fallen asleep in the meadow and Peeta brought me home. There's a note pinned to my suitcase.

Dear sweetheart,
I'm going to the capitol for a few days, I will be back soon so don't worry, Peeta's there if you need anything,
Be back soon,
Haymitch.
Ps. Your cat destroyed one of my pillows.
I laugh and stand up.
I'm Peeta's girlfriend.
A wave of happiness goes threw me. The phone rings and I answer it.
"Hello?"
"Katniss!" My mother says. I've ignored since the last time I called her, I've been so mad at her, she just left her only daughter left, her broken one, basically to her mentor to take care of. Haymith is more family to me then her.
"Please don't hang up!" She says.
"Give me a good reason mother." I respond calmly. "You left me to die."
"I've been a awful mother, but will you please just give me a chance.."
"Haymitch is more family to me then you! He actually takes care of me!"
"I know.. I'm sorry but.."
"No buts mom." I say. "I've been threw two hunger games and a rebellion! No mother in their right mind would leave their child alone!"
"I know I.."
"Haymitch checks on me almost everyday! You call every month or so.. That's why I ignore the phone.. I just thought someone else was calling today."
"Who else would be calling dear?"
"Let's see my doctor maybe.. Who I still need to get back to.. Haymitch sometimes calls.. Peeta usually comes over now but he could call."
"When did Peeta get back?"
"Peeta's been back.. For awhile.. He's one of my best friends." I say. I don't want to tell her he's me boyfriend because that will make me have to talk to her longer.
"Oh what about Gale.."
"Gale killed Prim! He's out of my life now mother!" I yell.
"I got to go mom."
"Katniss I love you."
"Bye mom." I say and hang up the phone. I start crying but Buttercup comforts me. I hear mail come threw the door and go over to it. There's a letter.

Dear Miss. Everdeen,
Thank you so much for everything you've done for Panem. We've forgiven you for killing Coin. Everyone has, the capitol, the districts, we now see what you saw and we are sorry for the way you were treated. Anyway we are keeping Snow's promise and still continuing to give all the Victors the winnings they deserve, there's your first check in the bottom of the envelope. We hope you find peace.
