Now that our time has come to fight
Scotland must unite
We'll make a stand on Stirling ground
To put a challenge to the crownWe are one,
we have come
We're here to break and end the occupation
We have our nation's fate in hand
It's time we make our final standRally all the clans
Englishmen advance
Blood of Bannockburn
Point of no returnJoin the Scottish revolution
Freedom must be won by blood
Now we call for revolution
Play the pipes and cry out loudWe need a king to rule our land
Bruce is in command!
It is the crown that's in his sight
And it's the reason we will fightTo attack,
send them back
And then we'll see to Bruce's coronation
We are the Scots with pikes in hand
And we will die to claim our landRally all the clans
Halted English plans
Charge on Bannockburn
Freedom we shall earnJoin the Scottish revolution
Freedom must be won by blood
Now we call for revolution
Play the pipes and cry out loudAnd as the Hammer lost its crown
And a weak heir to succeed it
Play the tunes of victory
Play them higher and higher tonightWallace show the way
Led us to this day
Here at Bannockburn
Freedom we have earnedJoin the Scottish revolution
Freedom must be won by blood
Now we call for revolution
Play the pipes and cry out loudJoin the Scottish revolution
Freedom must be won by blood
Now we call for revolution
Play the pipes and cry out loud((History!!
In 1314, nine years after the execution of William Wallace, the Scottish laid siege upon Stirling Castle and an agreement was made that if it had not been relieved by mid-summer the English would surrender the castle to the Scottish. The English could of course not ignore that challenge, and sent a formidable force north towards Stirling to break the siege and relieve the troops inside. In the end Robert the Bruce and the Scottish defeated the English under Edward II’s command with a force half the size and not nearly as well equipped of what the English had at their disposal))
