- The songs were a commercial success. "Whistle" topped the Gaon Digital Chart "Boombayah" topped the US World Digital Songs, both in the first week of sales.
- A music video for "Whistle" and "Boombayah" were released on Black Pink's official Youtube channel on August 8, 2016, and in less than a week both music videos earned more than 10 million views.
- On August 18, a dance practice for "Whistle" was released and August 20, the dance practice for "Boombayah" was released.
