Xie Yan went home when it was already dark. He had been working overtime lately, even though he was not busy with work.

Actually there was nothing for him to do at the company even though he stayed late. But he was used to being looked after. He had always relied on someone to knock on his office door and urge him to get off from work and return home, and to then pack away his things before also heading home. However, that guy wasn't there to attend to him anymore. Therefore all of the staffs in the company didn't dare to get off from work before the boss and could only look at the time while they suffered in hunger. They hoped that today their boss would get off from work earlier than yesterday and remember that Manager Shu had already gone.

Xie Yan remained very quiet throughout dinner. He had become much more depressed than before, and there was no one to chat with at the dining table. The maid brought out a pot of stew that had been simmering for a very long time and he said spontaneously: "Xiao Nian, give me another bowl..." His face became much more unsightly when he realized that the thin and slightly hunched man wasn't beside him.

Xie Yan felt uncomfortable. It was like a person who has a very serious nicotine addiction that was suddenly force to quit. He would frequently become restless and weak due to the nicotine withdrawal syndrome if he couldn't get a puff.

Xie Yan realized that he really missed that man; it was out of concern and out of habit. He would think of that man's face everytime he opened and closed his eyes. He had tried to consult psychiatrists, but those good-for-nothing psychiatrists only told him useless things that he completely disagreed with and it made his anger even worse. His tendency and extent to get irritated skyrocketed, and he had almost beaten those psychiatrists.

Actually his temper was not that irascible and even if he got really cranky, all his anger would be gone as long as that specific person pacified him, and stayed by his side.

How could someone like Shu Nian make him calm? Couldn't he find a substitute for Shu Nian?

However he also knew that Shu Nian was different than anyone else and Xie Yan had felt it ever since they were young.

Shu Nian gave him a feeling of having a candy hidden in his pocket where others wouldn't be able to have a taste except for himself who had already enjoyed the deep and hidden sweetness.

Shu Nian was completely different than everyone else. He was like a new kind of beauty that never existed before. Therefore, Xie Yan also did not know how to describe and define his feelings.
