You woke up early that morning, tangled up with Sam and it couldn't be more perfect. You went to grab breakfast for the boys as a way of thanking them for everything they did. They really took care of your after the horrible thing you had to go through.
To your surprise, you found Dean outside stretching his back, he had just woke up.
- "Morning sunshine" he waved as you approached him with bags full of food and coffee. "Nice to see you up and about" he said, helping you out.
- "It's the adrenaline pumping" you joked.
- "You okay about that?".
- "Yeah, I mean I'll be probably having nightmares from now until I'm 50 but it's all good" you teased making him crack a smile.
- "It gets better with time... and scarier... and dirtier. Well, it basically it never gets better, you just...".
- "You get better" you finished his sentence and Dean looked at you straight into your eyes and nodded with a smile.
- "Exactly" he softly replied. He could see that now how his brother could fall in love that easily with you.
- "I'm going to wake up Sam, I brought breakfast" you smiled back entering the room again.
The three of you started to do some research on the case. The boys gave you a quick class about hunting and most importantly, about what you were hunting right now. You offered going to the university's library to see if there was any article about a violent death of a student or a teacher on your building and that's where you headed next. After a few hours of going nowhere, you stumbled into an article about a cold-case murder that the police decided to rule out as a suicide despite having strong evidence that said otherwise. Scrolling down the text, there he was, the man that attacked you last night was the one in the picture. That was it.
You printed everything and went back to the boys again.
- "Guys, I got it" you entered the room interrupting them and splashing the files all over the table.
- "You are kidding" Dean said amazed, they had been busting their asses off all day trying to find some kind of lead but they had nothing.
- "You even have the place where he's buried?" Sam commented as he ran his eyes through the information. "You're amazing" he chuckled.
- "And this is the guy? Are you sure?".
- "Yeah, I remember clearly, trust me" you replied taking a can of soda from the fridge.
- "Wow, you're a natural" Dean toasted with you uplifting his bottle of beer. "Alright, let's salt and burn this son of a bitch" he added as he grabbed his jacket and the keys of the Impala. You didn't know what to do right know, you really didn't want to overstep Sam's boundaries. He was really serious about you staying out of danger. "You coming?" Dean said pointing out at you. You looked at Sam and he nodded, giving you his hand for you to take.
You had your full attention on the boys as they did the dirty work. You were learning, you found it amazing and frankly, you were starting to like it a lot. The adrenaline, the fear, the uncertainty of not knowing what could happen next.
- "We should EMF the place again, just to check if he's really gone now" Sam commented to his brother as both of them were finishing burying the body again.
- "I'll do it. You go back to the motel with (Y/N) and take her out on a date" he whispered with a wink, without you even realizing it.
- "What?" Sam asked confused. "No way, let me help you".
