"Morning babe. You ok, you look stressed." Greeted Fiona

"Morning, I'm fine just tired, and our quantum's running low, I hope they find some more before the end of the month, so your right, I am I bit stressed. Thanks for noticing"

I kiss Fiona's cheek

"That's what wives are for"

Kisses cheek back

"Mum, dad, you should come and see this!" Shouted Boyle their robot butler

TV Reporter"...yes, that's confirmed reports, repeat confirmed reports, of bombing in New York and... And Pennsylvania..."

Grabs 2 year old James off couch

"Fiona we need to get to the bomb shelter now!"

Fiona looks up

"But we will lose everything!"

Sits back down and sobs continuously

I sit down and puts arm around her, while holding James in the other arm

"Fiona. I don't want to lose everything either, but we have to go."

"Your right, let's go."

We get off the couch and head to the bomb shelter in the back garden

They got the beds really and got James's toys ready for the fallout.

They heard multiple bombs go of over the 2 weeks they were in the shelter

After 3 hours of hearing no bombs, I go outside

Opens shelter doors

Pokes head through

"Stay here Fiona, even if I take ages... Please promise me, you won't come looking for me."

"I promise"

I step outside and assess the damage done to our home, I rummage through the wreckage and find some picture frames with cracked screens, some toys shrivelled from the heat

"I need to find food, or something alive, nothing bad though."

I look around from a hill an see and explosion to the north, definitely not a nuke, but I should investigate just to be sure, I could find someone

On my way there I come across and old truck stop, probably destroyed by the nukes and the fighting

'WOOF WOOF!!'

"Hey boy, what are you doing out here in your own, let's stick together

I scratch the dog behind the ear and follow him into the truck stop, there is a bunch of cloth and sticks piled up in the corner, probably his bed
